Hi,
So was rereading the bit where Faramir and Eowyn meet and fall in love in the garden of the Houses of Healing and I had a bit of inspiration. I've used a couple of lines from the book and based almost all of it on that passage. Hope you like.
Annapurna
Snowdrop pale,
Even against winter skies, is her skin,
The shadows under her eyes,
Dove grey fans,
Speak volumes of her suffering,
Of the Darkness that still haunts her dreams,
Her actions not without cost,
Drained to the very bone of her being,
Such the Evil she faced,
Her hair catches in the wind,
Communes with the icy breeze,
Her hair,
Like silken threads of burnished gold,
Yet sorrow is woven through every strand,
Eyes cry out
'Please listen! Please listen to me!
I'm here in this tower,
I long to be free!'
His eyes of wisest grey,
The soft lashes accentuate their nature,
Piecing and perceiving more than many a man,
Tenderness and solemnity mixed with understanding,
Though his face is gentle,
Though his shirt is soft folds, not mail
He is a warrior,
His stance speaks of his training,
One whom no Rider of the Mark would outmatch in battle,
His hair shifts,
For a split second his eyes are hidden,
His hair,
Raven shocks of finest filament,
Streaks of silver display of his grief,
He speaks,
'I hear you! I listen to you!
Up here in this tower,
I'm here with you too!'
They stood on the wall,
Gazing eastwards,
Gleaming in the sun.
They walked in the garden;
They stood together,
Watching the horizon.
The cloak of stars fell around her in rapturous beauty,
The cloak of Finduilas –
Imbued with loveliness; sadness also lingered.
They stood upon the wall,
Hands entwined,
Though they did not know it.
