Wanted to take a small break from my other story and work on this one since they're a great pairing. Some of the dialogue I used were from 616-Comics since they were so unique in a way. Also to note, this is my first try at a Romance story, so if you feel I need to polish a few things around here, P.M me or review to let me know!

The Streets of New York...

Spider-Man was happily swinging across the city just on his way to meet up with Gwen Stacy. Behind the mask was the unlikely hero, Peter Parker, and he's been doing this gig for a good two years. Battling villains, solving small cases and putting crimes to a stop. He struggled for a bit, as doing schoolwork at Midtown High and his job at the bugle could be a handful, but he was able to manage himself. In his hand, he carried a small bouquet of flowers, chocolates, and a small hand-sized box.

Today was Valentine's day and it's the one day where he can show his appreciation for Gwen. The two had been dating over a good year and they were maintaining a strong relationship. It only took a while for them finally open up to each other and they were quite happy. What had been a small crush led them to something more. He couldn't be any more thankful.

He heard a ring from his phone and he stopped himself a moment to land on a building to pick what it needed to say, "-Attention. Nearby officers report to Chinatown. Over" Said from the radio on his phone. He had used this trick to better catch up on whatever crime is going around in whatever district and where he was needed.

He looked up at the time and saw he had an only over an hour from his date. He shrugged, "Still got time. Nothing like a little action won't hurt." He gently placed his items on the edge with ease and jumped off to the edge, swinging off to his next stop.

Minutes later...

After a small beatdown at a local grocery store, Spider-Man successfully stopped the robbers from getting away. All in a days job. He dusted off his hands as he made way to the front door of the police cars, "That just about it. They're all your officers."

"Thanks again Spider-Man. We'll take it from here." One of the cops replied to him as they went inside to arrest the thugs.

The young hero nodded and shot up a web up on a perch and swung his way back to where he left his belongings. He took a glance at the time, "Just a half hour left. Still making good time." He saw the apartment building and twisted himself up from his web, landing up on the roof. Just as he turned to where he last placed them, his eye lenses widened from shock.

All of his items were taken!

His mood changed to panic as Peter looked around to if he'd misplaced them for a different spot. "No no no! This can't be happening! I was only gone for a few minutes!" Spider-Man exclaimed in frustration. He hopped over a few buildings to check if they were there. He draped his hand over his face, "Well... This is just great.." He sighed and swung off into the streets. "At least I got this..." As he held up the white box, "But still..." He was in deep thought of what he was gonna do now. The teen only had minutes until his date... He could just... buy them again, right?

At the streets...

"Well, doesn't this just suck... you've gotta be kidding me! There's nothing?!"

Over the past minutes, Peter had tried visiting different stores to gather the right flowers and chocolates. Just his luck... They're really wasn't any other store that had anything that Gwen liked. He only had fifteen minutes to get what he needed and go about his day. He held his head in frustration and tried to look over a few addresses on his phone. Just as he was about to sprint off to another store, he was stopped by the sound of an alarm at a nearby store.

"Seriously?!" He exclaimed as ran into a nearby alley to change into his suit. Talk about timing!

Inside the store, a couple of no-gooders were stealing what they can to satisfy their needs.

"Alright, put your hands where I can see them!" Shouted from the robber who was holding a gun at the clerk. He reached to the counter and popped the cash register opened and grabbed a handful of what was in it. Satisfied with they're takings... They were just about to leave when a dull face Spider-Man barged in.

"That just never seems to get old... Doesn't it? You know... If you want to rob a store- Oh, forget it. You guys are really messing up my day." He quickly lunged at the thugs for another ass-kicking.

A couple more minutes later...

The cops cheered for the vigilante hero as he got out of the store, "Yeah! Nice job Spider-"

The hero hurriedly whizzed past by them, "YeahokthatsgreatIgottagonowseeya!"

"Just a few minutes... I can still make it!" He pressed the trigger on his palm, but it buzzed out. He pressed the button multiple times but nothing was coming out! He pressed the trigger on his other web-shooter and turns out it was empty too!

"Man... Why do I keep forgetting to refill these things...?" His lenses widened in shock as braced himself to hit the ground. After a couple of seconds getting himself together, Spider-Man groggily rose up from the ground and scattered to where they were at. His shoulders slumped as the box of chocolates and flowers were ruined.

"Okay... It's alright... there are store's nearby and I can still make it!"

He hurriedly changed back into his normal clothing and jogged out of the way to a quick corner store.

Gwen happily hummed as she made her way to where Peter was gonna meet up with her. She was dressed in a green coat, wearing black collared shirts wore over a purple skirt. Something about the colors seems to stand out. She was never the one to look stylish but she rocked out on it. In her hand, she was holding up a small bag containing her gifts for her valentine. They had a good year, and what better way to show appreciation of the one you care about? Gwen happily sighed as she hoped he would like them.

She turned just around the corner of a street, then all of a sudden, to a nearby door beside her, someone bumped into her, causing them to tumble on the ground. She was about to give the person a piece of her mind when she realized it was,

"Peter?"

"Gwen?"

She saw how he was carrying over a handful of boxes of chocolates and flowers. She gaped at him to how much he had spent!

Peter having to realize he knocked into her, hurriedly picked her up to her feet, "I... uh... Sorry." She simply nodded and looked at the bag in his hands. He raised it up to her, "These are for you! Special... Delivery?"

The blonde giggled as she took notice of how his whole face and clothing looked a bit ruffled up. "Gosh, Peter. Your such a mess."

"Yeah, I... had a bit of trouble on traffic. You know how it is right?"

"Oh. You have no idea..." Another chuckle drew from her, "Well, you made it. And you got a little bit of smudge like... everywhere." She smiled at the messy torn up teen. "Wanna go?"

"Definitely..."

As the two ate lunch together at a small diner nearby, Peter told her about all the crazy things that happened to him. From the missing items, the cops, thugs, and how everything had just been plain bad luck.

"And so now I'm here." He rubbed the back of his neck, "I'm still bummed out though. I had everything planned out. "

She gave him a soft smile reached her hand to his, "Well, you tried. That's all it matters right? Oh! Speaking of gifts... I have a few things for you." She exclaimed, grabbing up her bag and handed him a bag.

Peter held up a small watch, "Woah! These things are limited edition! I thought they all went out!" He exclaimed as he marveled at Black-Green watch. He dug his hand into the bag and held up a small spray bottle, "Cologne?"

"Your suit smells sometimes."

He laughed from the comment, acknowledging how true this was. "Thanks, Gwendy. Here is yours!" Handing her a small box.

She happily thanked him and opened it up. Her eyes widened from the sight, "It's... A charm bracelet." She gently picked a pink and white diamonds that were stretched across the bars of the bracelet.

"You were always into those, so I figured I could get you one," Peter said. He fumbled with his hands, "If... You don't like it, then I could just get another one."

"I like it."

"Y-you do?"

She nodded, slipping over the bands over her wrist and clamped the ends together. "I- Wow... It's amazing... The colors... Thanks, Peter. It means a lot." She engulfed him in a hug, then leaned her face to his, pecking his cheek. "Is this is what you've been saving up all those times?"

"It was worth it." He replied, then breaking their hug, "So... What do you wanna do now? Ice-cream? Movie? A stroll in the park?"

"I... have no idea." She said sheepishly. Having to put some thought into it for a bit, the blonde picked her head up, drawing a smirk to him, "Actually... There is..."

Peter was pretty surprised to think she was up for this. Not that he ever thought that she wasn't but... web-swinging was one of the things Gwen is very new to since it IS one of the fastest ways to get where she needed to be. The idea of falling and zipping across the city didn't sound as exciting, but there was something to it that Gwen liked about.

Dressed up in his Spider-Man suit, he unloaded the empty cartridges of his web-shooters and inserted in his new ones. He needed to make a note to remind to carry extra web cartridges. He had led her to the top of a roof on a small building. They were just about ready to start. "You're not gonna panic like the last time we did this, right? Cause that put a bad name on me for a while.."

Gwen scoffed and crossed her arms, "Okay, first of all. You jumped on the count of ONE! How was I not gonna panic!?"

Spider-Man raised his arms in defense, "I thought it would be funny! It was supposed to ease the tension!"

The blonde shook her head, "You know how I am with heights..."

Spider-Man shot up a strand of webbing to a building and tugged on it. Doing so, he felt her arms wrapped around his neck, "Okay, ready?"

She bit her lip, still thinking of backing away from this. Gwen shook away that thought and nodded in response, "Guess so..."

"Alright, and here..." He took a step forward on the ledge, "we..." His body tilted forward, the pressure was already too much, "..Go!"

"ohgodohgodohgodohgod!" Gwen shut her eyes tight, as she felt the force of gravity taking place. They were free falling! Why was this a good idea!? No. Actually! Why was this ever an idea! She suddenly felt the change of motion when she opened her eyes to see him shooting up a strand of web from his wrist device. Then another one after that... Gwen looked at the streets below them and saw how fast they moving. It was amazing!

"You doing alright back there?"

She nervously chuckled, "I-er... Yeah! This is- This is actually fun!" What was fear, became into fits of laughter as they traversed themselves across the city of New York. "WOO-HOO! YEAH!"

The couple laughed as they made turns around a few corners of buildings, letting the adrenaline get to them as they enjoyed their moments. From Times Square to The Empire State building, Gwen couldn't get enough of this. She knew the City of New York was alive, but never in this way...

After their mindless fun of swinging around the city a few times, Spider-Man eventually sat them down on a perch high up on top of a building. The two dangled their feet over the ledge and enjoyed the scenery before them. With the cars aloud from the distance. The sun setting. Being with each other. They couldn't ask for a better day.

"To think you do this every day... It's pretty crazy." Gwen turned to the teen in blue and red, "Thanks, Peter."

"Believe me, I wasn't sure if it was a good idea in the first place."

The blond laughed, "Well, I had a great time today. That's all I ever wanted from you."

He rubbed his neck from the comment, "Pft. I mean, well, I still think I could've done better... With all the things happening today-"

She softly giggled and laced her hands with his, "Stop beating yourself up for that. You already made my day for being here."

He scratched his head, still unsure, "If you put it that way then, yes... It was." Peter replied, and looked down at himself, "You know, Gwen... All this time, I've been feeling sorry for myself. But you being here, everything just seems so right again."

Gwen simply smiled at him, "Really? How so?"

"I've been stuck in a couple of loops in the past. And you helped me realize that no matter what new problems may come along. It won't mean a thing. You helped me a lot and well, I don't what I would do if you weren't here. You mean a lot to me-." He felt his left arm suddenly wrapped around and turned his head to see that Gwen was hugging his arm. He smiled from affection and returned it. His ears caught something from her. Almost as if she was... "Uh... Gwen? Are you-?"

She held him tighter, "Don't talk... Just hold me so you won't see me cry..."

He simply laughed and nodded, letting the two stay there as they embraced each other as they shared this moment. "I can't let you go so soon Gwendy."

"We're Best Friends"

That wraps it up! How was it? I'll be continuing my "Spirals" Story from here on out.
