Another short one here. I was in a wistful mood, what can I say?

Beauty of the Labyrinth
by Jade
Walking along the path, I slowly made my way up the hill to peer out
across the vast Labyrinth. The grass, long and smooth, tickles my hands
as I walk aimlessly through the enchanting lands that surround the Goblin
City. Whistling softly, I hear my name called but pay it no heed. Onward
I walk, wandering down by the smooth water flowing endlessly through the
labyrinth's landscape.
Walking along the water's edge, I peer into the cool water, watching the
fish swimming effortlessly through the crystalline waters. Weaving in and
out of the aquatic foliage, they break free of the water briefly, only to
fall back below the surface once again. Small insects, floating on the
surface, meet their doom as the fish swim up to snatch them from their
precarious positions.
Looking ahead, the butterflies fly between the flowers, soaking up the
pollen in a warm embrace. The air is humming with the buzzing of the
bees, moving along the same paths they have for many time before.
Swinging my hands gently along the long grass, I can hear the slithering
of a snake to my left but I don't care. The simplicity surrounding me at
the moment is more than I am willing to give up.
A smile upon my lips and a song upon the breeze, I know that I will have
to return soon enough. I know that he will find me no matter where I
might be. He found me when I needed him more than ever and brought me
here to live peacefully. Again, I hear my name called, and look over my
shoulder. Off in the distance he stands, his blonde hair wafting gently
upon the zephyr.
I turn back and continue walking, knowing he is drawing closer. Pulling
my sweater over my shoulders, a sudden chill fills me and I shiver
involuntarily. I reach the end of the path, and look at what lies before
me only knowing I will return to where I came from with the simple
knowledge that he is there, walking me through the simple steps of life.
I feel a hand on my shoulder and know he finally made it. Letting my eyes
go shut, I hear his breathing, calm and simple, as it falls melodiously on
my ears. I turn slowly to face him, my eyes opening to see his mysterious
eyes looking back at me. A smile on his handsome face, warm and inviting,
made me smile back.
"Don't you think it is about time you got back?" he asks, his tone soft
and soothing. Brushing the hair from my eyes, his smile widens as I nod
my reply. "Good, then shall we?" he asks, offering his arm.
"Thank you Jareth," I reply simply, taking his arm.
"Anytime my dear, anytime."
Walking back to the castle, slowly through the serene setting, his company
is more than I could ever have wanted. The beauty that is the Labyrinth
starts here, with the Goblin King himself, and is a never ending cycle.
For as long as there is Jareth, there is beauty.
