Prompt: A Year Like This One – Alanis Morissette
Spencer really wasn't the kind of guy who liked to go to parties but this was one party he couldn't go too. He stood back in the corner at Dave's house and just watched everyone. He couldn't believe that in about five minutes it would be a new year. He wasn't sure where this year had gone but it went by fast. He felt someone touch his shoulder and when he looked over at who it was he couldn't help but smile.
"Why are you hiding back here for Pretty boy?" Derek asked. He couldn't believe how lucky he had been this year. He finally found the one person who made his life complete and who he loved more than anything.
Spencer grabbed Derek's hand in his and brought it up to his lips and kissed it. "I'm just thinking. I can't believe how fast this year has flown by."
Derek nodded and looked up when he heard Dave shout "One minute til midnight everyone. Get with your loved one."
Derek looked down at Spencer and wrapped his arm around Spencer's waist and pulled him to him. "I know what you mean baby. I want a year like this one this coming year. I found love without even looking. I don't want anything to change Spencer. You are my life."
At Derek's words Spencer's heart sped up but he didn't get to say anything because everyone started counting down. As soon as the yelling started Spencer pulled Derek's head down to him and pressed his lips against Derek's. He groaned when Derek's tongue darted into his mouth. He wrapped his arms around Derek's neck as Derek deepened the kiss. He still couldn't believe how lucky he has been.
Once Derek broke the kiss Spencer looked into his eyes and said "You are my life too Derek. I love you. Happy New Years."
Derek grinned and bent his head once more and kissed Spencer again before saying "Happy New Years Pretty Boy. I love you too and I'll always love you."
