Ok, here is a new one. I wrote this really quick today and I would like all
who read this to please comment. I would really appreciate it. It is short,
and I do mean short!

Magic of the Labyrinth
By Jade
Just as I have done many times before, I made my way to the hilltop and sat
among the tall, green grass. Glancing up at the sky, I see it is almost dusk
and a few shimmering stars are already peeking through the sky of infinate blue
as if to say hello. I continue to watch the sky as more stars make their
presence known. Streaks of color run through the blueness of the sky,
distorting what daylight is left.
A light breeze blows by gently caressing my skin with its wonderous touch that
only the Labyrinth could give. The long thick grass surrounding me, bends
lightly tickling my arms with its melodious movements. I breathe in the
freshness carried across the landscape of the Labyrinth and know there is
nowhere I would rather be.
Stretching out on the ground, I listen to the sounds that are carried upon the
breeze. I can hear the faintest of sounds that the goblins make, as they
scurry through the city. The zephyr whistles gently through the trees sounding
vaguely familiar as a lullaby sings a babe to sleep. Footsteps approaching
gives my heart cause to flutter as I know who is seeking me out as he has done
many times before.
Standing over me is the King. A smile upon his handsome face, he says not a
word, but instead stretches out on the ground next to me. Looking up at the
fading light, he lets a sigh escape his lips then he turns his attention back
to me. Looking deeply into my eyes, he can see everything I feel and I know he
understands.
I reach out and take his hand in mine, wondering what life would be like if I
had never known him. I shake the thought from my mind. I know that this is
the life for me and that if I was to change now, I would never be the same
again. A slight chill in the air causes me to move closer to him and snuggle
against his warmth. I can hear him chuckle softly at my being so close to hear
his breathing that is soothing to my ears.
"Why is it that you insist on coming up here every evening?" he spoke softly,
turning his head to look at me. He reached out his hand and brushed a stray
strand of hair from my face all the while, never deterring his gaze.
I smiled back at him. "Because the Labyrinth holds more magic for me than you
could ever imagine. It is so calm and peaceful here." I replied, watching him
roll onto his side and prop himself up on his elbow.
"But you know that I will come looking for you, don't you?" he asked, a smile
playing on his lips.
"Of course Jareth. You and the magic of the Labyrinth are all I ever need in
my life." I answered, feeling his fingers gliding down my cheek. Watching him
stand up, I feel a warmth at knowing that we have a special bond that can never
be broken. Grasping my hands, he pulls me to my feet effortlessly and into his
embrace. Watching the sun finally set below the horizon, we walk slowly back
to the castle knowing that it doesn't get any better than this.
