I recently became an avid watcher of the show "8 Simple Rules". One of the first episodes I caught while flipping through channels was when Jonathan Taylor Thomas guest starred as Jeremy. Just in case you missed those three episodes, I'll fill you in. Jeremy is very smart and somewhat of a nerd, if I were to put it stereotypically. The good looks beneath his glasses and his intellectual charm causes Bridget to fall for him. She manages to find out he likes her as well and they begin to date. Unfortunately for them both, Bridget's ex boyfriend, Damian decides to move back in town. Jeremy becomes aware of this but doesn't make a scene due to his easy-going, soft-spoken personality. Damian has somewhat of a hold on Bridget and always has. She managed to forget about him, but thoughts of him made her weak at the knees. She still cared for Jeremy but her thoughts were beginning to confuse her. In the last of the three episodes, Jeremy decides that it won't work between them. Just as he leaves, Damian finally confronts Bridget on her porch. She then realizes that her feelings for Damian are truly gone. Unfortunately, she had lost Jeremy and Damian didn't matter to her anymore.
So that's basically where the three part episode ends. I liked this story line so much and I wished they would have continued it, but we all know they can't. A fan fic was the next best thing. Hope you like the first part. Reviews are much appreciated. ;
Chapter One
Sunday, February 8, 2004
It had been a week since Jeremy broke up with me. Of course I'd been flirting with numerous guys as I always do, getting numbers but tossing them in the nearest trash can. I found myself tossing these numbers to be odd. I just didn't care as much about other guys. I was always the girl dating guys like Damian, the classic bad boy. The occasional jock would ask me to the movies. Every now and then I would get a phone call from guys who simply talk to any girl that walks by him. Up until I dated Jeremy, guys were just come and go. Yeah, a few made me weak at the knees and took me a while to forget, like Damian. But guys like Jeremy you never forget, as I'm currently noticing. He wasn't a flyby or somebody that just happened to like me because I'm a tall blonde. When he complimented me, which was all the time, I could tell he was sincere. Damian just told me I looked hot all the time. Which, by the way is major turn off for any girl when a guy says that. Jeremy's substitution were words like "beautiful" and "exquisite". It felt like he actually thought long and hard before he used them.
All last week I had managed to ignore him in third period, just to avoid any awkwardness. I don't think I can go through another week of that.
