Walt Disney's Goodbye
It's heartbreaking, when a character you have created and loved becomes forgotten by the world. Imagine how terrible it is for so many of my characters to have been forgotten. All that work, all that time, all the hope and effort that was put into creating a new life. But I cannot sit here and bemoan my loss, I must think of my characters, my children.
Just because they are forgotten does not mean that their lives should be finished. This is why I have created a land for them to continue their lives, and I shall make Oswald their leader...Oswald, you had so much potential but circumstances have forced me to part with you, for now. But do not worry, there is a reason I named you Oswald the Lucky Rabbit. When the time is right you will be remembered and your heart will be restored back to you, hopefully all of you will be remembered.
Until then, I give you this land to rule and live. In your absence I must create a new character. I pray you do not resent him, and that you realize that I do not love you any less. I hope you will come to see a mouse as a brother.
What will your new land look like? You know any one of my Imagineers could come up with a number of pleasant ideas, but this is something I needed to create myself. It will be a place of beauty and peace, but still have all the fun and chaos you crave. I will model it after a theme park, rides and all. I only pray that this land will suffice, this land of the forgotten.
No, this land of the waiting, because none of you will be there because you are forgotten, but because you are waiting for the world to rediscover you. I shall begin work right away, this land must be perfect and I pray that no misfortune shall fall upon it.
