I just wanted to say, this is my first actual Warehouse 13 story and deals with last nights episode. Yay!
Disclaimer: I own nothing. If I did I'd be quoting Jaime Murray's character H.G. Wells when I say, "Think of the royalties!"
Pete had been searching for his partner since dinner and finally found her alone in in the Warehouse. He watched her catalog artifacts.
"Myka?" He called as he walked toward her. She looked up at him and gave him a weak smile.
"Hi." She responded before going back to her work. Pete let her walk to another shelf before he spoke again.
"You left right after dinner. Are you okay?" He asked.
"I'm fine. Just wanted to get this finished." She responded.
"We do this almost every week Mykes. We have a good enough record of all the artifacts. What's really the matter?" Pete asked. She continued her work for a moment before answering.
"Do you really blame Helena for me leaving?" Myka finally asked. Pete breathed in.
"I did." Pete replied shifting uncomfortably. His partner went back to her work. Pete cleared his throat before he said, "Why did you leave?" Myka turned to him and put her clip board down. She looked at her partner for a minute that seemed more like days before speaking to him.
"I told you. I'm the reason she is where she is. I felt guilty, I still do." Myka answered, the last of her sentence softer than the rest.
"No you didn't." Pete said reassuringly. Myka scoffed before saying anything else.
"I am Pete! If I hadn't put the faith I had in her she would still be here!" Myka responded. "If I had listened to you and," she stopped before going on, "Artie, I wouldn't have lost a partner again! I wouldn't have lost-" She cut herself off before finishing, "a sister." Pete watched as her emotions washed across her face. He took her in his arms.
"Shh Mykes. It's okay." He told her as he hugged her.
"Thanks Pete." Myka mumbled in his shoulder.
"Anytime Myka. Just tell me the next time you leave." He said. She smiled as she left the hug.
"I will." Myka answered. Pete smiled.
"What?" Myka asked suspiciously.
"I was just thinkin' about when we were mistaken for Jack and Rebecca." Pete said as they walked out of the warehouse.
