Okay guys, so this is my first one-shot so don't judge if I didn't do very well. No hate pls . I hope you enjoy this Percy Jackson one-shot!
My name is Josephine Penrose and I work for the media. Normally, I help broadcast live news. I've never messed up before, not before today. However, I don't even think this was me messing up. Someone had hacked into our news channel to broadcast a message, which I hadn't really understood. This is what had happened.
"And we're on in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. We're on!" Chris exclaimed.
"Welcome back, America! I'm Tobias Friesen, your reporter for today. Yesterday was President Obama's first State of Union speech. He said that creating jobs should be the number one-"
Suddenly, Tobias was cut off and the screen went black for a second. Then, it came back on, but on a different scene. A girl of about 17 years old with blonde hair came onto the screen. She looked pretty sweet, but what unnerved me the most was her intense stormy grey eyes.
Chris grabbed his cell phone out of his pocket. "Alert, someone has hacked into our channel. We don't know how. It's just a teenager."
The blonde started speaking. "Percy! Where are you?" she said frantically. "You've been missing for a month! We're trying to find you, but we don't know where you are. Grover says your empathy link has been growing very weak. If by some chance you are listening to this, please find a way to contact us. Everyone's trying to find you. I'm worried sick. Seaweed Brain, I love you..."
"Annabeth!" a voice cried from off the screen. "We've found something!"
"I'm coming," Annabeth said, then turned back to the screen. "I hope you're listening to this, somehow, Seaweed Brain. I'll be waiting." With that, the screen flickered back to Tobias, who just sat there shocked for a second.
"Well, as I was saying, President Obama..."
Chris called me and a few of our co-workers into a side room. "Do any of you know what just happened?" he asked.
We shook our heads.
"Word of this is going to be everywhere. We are one of the biggest news channels in America! We've never made a mistake! This is going to be damaging to our reputation. I suggest that we finish this news report, then stop for the day. We all need a break." Chris said fiercely.
In agreement, we filed out of the room to help finish up the news report. When it ended, we all got out of the building as fast as we could, ready to get away from the first mistake we ever had made.
I never did find out what happened to these Percy and Annabeth kids. Maybe they found each other, but we never knew, and we weren't ever hacked like that again.
