Spoilers: For 1x15 The Benders, it's Sam's turn for a sleepless night watching over his injured brother after Dean collapses. I have been so distressed by the current season, I've had to watch my faves again to detox after seeing the new ones, that's where this comes from.
They were almost to the Impala when he collapsed. Luckily Sam'd noticed his ragged breathing and that he'd been hunched over against pain he hadn't admitted to.
Catching the trembling body, giving his brother the once-over he wouldn't submit to at the Benders'. The still-bleeding forehead gash didn't account for his symptoms. The huge knot on the back of his skull might. Or the deep bruising and partial-dislocation of his shoulder or the horrifying third-degree burn. Perhaps the cracked ribs or septum.
The motel TV was testing the Emergency Broadcast System as he'd prepared for sleeplessness watching over Dean. Coincidence?
