Memories Never Fade

Author's Note: Hello! This is my first fanfiction. It's a bit sad, but well, the series is sad after all! Its war! I hope you enjoy and like reading it. Do review and constructive criticism is appreciated.

Peeta's P.O.V.

Her deep green eyes were amazing. They held so many emotions in them.

Sadness. A lot of sadness. If you looked carefully, you could still see the images of Rue lying in the forest with a drop of tear that had escaped from her eyes before she died. Images of Prim's little duck-tail, as she called it, the last one time that she saw her sister's duck-tail. Flashes of Mutts, hundreds and thousands of mutts, thrashing, howling, and tearing away the flesh of Finnick Odair. Flashes of me being tortured in the Capitol, me trying to kill her and angry, torturing tears starting to form in her eyes.

Humour. Wicked, mocking, humour. They held so much of that too. The taunting look that crosses her eyes when she many a times snorted back at Snow. The taunting look her eyes held when she aimed her arrow at Coin's heart and shot.

Challenge. The challenging, commanding, demanding look had always managed to be locked there in her eyes. The way she looked at the camera in the 74th Hunger Games, the deadly berries in her hand, eyes glued to the camera and the same challenging, commanding, mocking look in her eyes.

Happiness. Although not much, there's still a little trace of happiness left in her eyes. The one that occurs when she takes her father's old bow in her hand. The one that crosses her eyes when she looks at the woods in District 12. The one that naturally came when she once looked at her little sister.

And one more, last yet not the least of the thousands of emotions her eyes carry, is love. Deep, calm, rough, desperate love that takes measure on her eyes only once. When she looks at me.

The beautiful, amazing eyes of Katniss Everdeen.
