A/N: Written in 2009 following "Sometimes a Great Notion." Just found it on my hard drive & decided to post. Un-beta'd. All mistakes are mine.

When Leoben found Kara hiding out in an empty room in Galactica's warm belly, her face showed no sign of surprise. Just reticence. There was no fight left in his Starbuck.

Her defeated eyes shifted to meet his, and Leoben knew he finally had the deity he craved - the one he could worship with his mouth and his hands.

He didn't mention fate or destiny, or speak of the way he'd fled from her on Earth. He couldn't tell her that she'd replaced his God long ago, and now he didn't remember how to worship at any other altar. Everything he'd ever seen or believed was a lie. Kara had been his truth all along.
