Another sheep was climbing up to the path of salvation, another night of suffering and agony as the nightmares steadily chased the tormented soul up further and further the seemingly never ending puzzle. Tonight the nightmare was the person this sheep was interested in during the waking hours. It kept chanting about meeting the parents and wanting raise a child together even though the sheep knew it wasn't possible.
It kept climbing until it heard echo of bell tolling in the distance. With renewed vigor the sheep scrambled ever upward to the end of the dream. Push this block, pull this block there, barely leap over the spike trap over there only to activate the bomb trap next to it. The sheep ran on equals part of faith and fear. The nightmare version of the would be lover was getting closer, chuckling darkly that they would be together forever. This sheep was not the man of legend because it that was supposed to be a myth and a joke. A joke to make all the sheep scramble harder, work faster on these puzzles only to live for one more day.
The creature arrived at the exit with glee and began to open the door.
"No! You can't leave me! We're meant to be together!" The nightmare screamed in haste when it appeared before the sheep and the door that represented freedom.
"I'm sorry," it whispered back as tears fell from the sheep's eyes. The light enveloped the monster and slowly vanished from sight.

She awoke in her with fright, it was another nightmare. Out of all the people she knows she is the only one to remember them. She recalled the monster that chased her the night before, it was all the people who made fun of her because many people think she would commit suicide. The woman disappeared and rumors spread about her actually going through with the act. The irony is that was when she reborn during that time of absence and rarely did she ever look back. But in moments when she felt insecure she couldn't help but think back to those days. Thankfully her friends understood and accepted her during those harsh times.
However her dream last night spooked her far more than she could have ever expected. The nightmare assumed the form of the sweetest guy she has ever met. It lacked the affection and innocence that only he could provide. Well he wasn't innocent anymore, she thought to herself with a smirk. The kid, the man, took her out on the most romantic evening. The diner was wonderful and it was cute that he tried to show how nimble he was on his feet. Next he drove them to secluded spot to watch the stars in his new vehicle.
She made sure from her friend it was only a rental because they knew he couldn't afford a new car on his salary. After a few drinks, she persuaded him to spend the evening with her because "didn't want to be alone." He blushed when the meaning became clear to him. She made sure he would have a night to remember for the rest of his days. She smiled as memories rewinded themselves and played again in her mind. When the events ended she slipped into what was supposed to be a peaceful slumber. The woman grimaced as scenes she just escaped threatened to replay themselves.
"Good morning Erica," the boy turned man greeted her sleepily. His face flushed a shade of crimson as he took in his surroundings.
She thanked the heavens for the small reprieve from her thoughts. She sat back down on her bed and snuggled into her young lover's arms. "Good morning Toby."
