Klaus Heinz von dem Eberbach's body was completely still, laid out on the floor except for his torso, which was cradled in Dorian Red Gloria's arms.

Dorian had already checked his pulse. There had been none. That was why the sudden movement caught him by surprise.

"Klaus?" He whispered in disbelief, searching the other man's face for any more sign of life.

Klaus opened his eyes slowly. It was obvious he was disoriented, as he blinked several times and finally squinted at Dorian.

"Eroica?"

"Oh, thank god!" Dorian exclaimed, and heedless of the possible danger to his person, leaned over and buried his face in Klaus' shoulder.

"Idiot!" The Major gasped out weakly. Dorian made a noise that sounded suspiciously like a sniffle.

"I thought you were dead." Dorian leaned back after a moment, prepared for Klaus' to leave his arms and compose himself.

Instead, Klaus stayed put and questioned him.

"Why didn't you try CPR?"

Dorian blinked and contemplated the question.

"I did think about it, but only as a last resort. I didn't think you'd want to wake up with the knowledge that I saved your life with a kiss."

Klaus scowled, but instead of calling Dorian one of his usual names for him, he lay back and closed his eyes.

"Major…?"

"Be quiet, I'm trying to think."

Dorian stared down at him for a few minutes in surprise. The situation was just too odd, and Dorian was still trying to recover from Klaus 'dying' and then returning to life – this odd allowance was almost too much for him to comprehend.

"…Okay."

Dorian had the pleasure of Klaus' using him as a pillow for a few more minutes until the Major carefully righted himself, and they got to work on escaping the cave-in they found themselves stuck in.
