I decided to rewrite everything and replace the chapters. I was writing the old story, and I was like '-this shit doesn't make a bit of sense.' So, the old theme is still there.

Clary

Since the day I was born I was always my father's little princess. Anything I could even think of wanting I got, no questions asked. But, I was perfectly content with my father and my baby brother.

God, how could I have been so dumb and not put two and two together; sweet and innocent Clarissa couldn't figure out that her family was the mafia. I rolled my eyes at my stupidity.

So now here I was wearing my black dress and dark shades holding a simple white rose as the coffin was into the ground.

'Time for tears is over Clarissa. You have a position to fill.' A voice said in my head. I could no longer shed tears because vulnerability was no longer an option. My brother, Jonathan was by my side, his arm wrapped tightly around my waist.

Now that I knew everything my perspective of life was completely different. I am not the little girl who would crawl into her daddy's lap and beg him for a bedtime story. Now I am next in line for the throne. I am now preparing myself to take over the business.

All that could be heard was the muffled voices of the guard's that stood at every point of the grave site. I looked around surveying my new life now that I understood everything that was going on around me.

I finally dropped the rose and watched it flutter six feet into the ground before turning and walking towards the limousine with Jonathan close behind me. As soon as the door closed behind John, we were off.

"How are you holding up Clarissa." Uncle Valentine asked me as he poured himself a drink.

"I'll be fine Uncle." I responded while absently staring out the window, watching as we passed through the black metal gates that held my home. If I can even call it that without my father here anymore.

As soon as the driver put the car in parked, the door to the back of the car was opened so we could exit. I stepped out of the car last, and was greeted by Uncle Valentine and three other men. Seeing as though I didn't feel like talking, I prepared myself to walk past the men without a second glance.

"Ms. Clarissa." One of them said before I could make it in the threshold.

I turned around to be met by tall Mexican man,

"I'm Raphael your new head of security." He said holding out his hand in offering. I took it shaking it briefly before turning back, trying to make a dash for my bedroom.

"Clarissa." My uncle's voice rang through the house. "We have a little business to take car off before you go to your room." I turned to see that he was in full business mode. He turned on his heel and walked towards my father's old office.

I lowered my head slightly in defeat and walked slowly behind him with my new head of security following behind us. If having him on my tail was going to be a 24/7 thing, we were going to have to do some serious talking because that is definitely not working for me.

We stopped in front of a wooden door with a single gold plate in the center.

Morgenstern.

Written in black ink.

My uncle stepped aside and waited for me to open the door. I reached my shaking hand out and placed it on the door knob, using all the mental strength I could gather, I pushed open the door and walked into the room.

Every emotion I could imagine course through my veins as I looked around. Misery. Pain. Abandonment.

I forced my legs to walk behind his desk and towards his chair. At the moment my hand slid across the smooth leather the only thing I felt in my veins was strength.

Swirling the chair around, I lowered myself into the chair before spinning to face the now filled room.

Standing in front of everyone side by side was Jonathon, Uncle Valentine and Raphael.

"Your father was only sixteen when he took over, when he sat in that very chair. Only a year younger than you Clarissa, we have nothing but faith in you. You can start when you're ready."

I turned away from the all, looking out the large window that was behind my fath- my desk.

"Just find some work to do." I said while keeping my voice as even as I could.

"Yes boss." The men said simultaneously before leaving the room.

Boss. I actually like the sound of that.
