Summary: Robert "Bobby" Goren is a teenager and a few minutes trying to ignore
the world.
Notes: Dick Wolf owns the rights.
Bobby laid on his back, eyes on the sky above him, trying to ignore the shouting. He knew his mother would be worrying about him, perhaps screaming at invisible bugs crawling up and down the walls, demanding they return him to her. He didn't move. Noting to himself that the weather forecast had been predicated incorrectly. He was disappointed rain would have been nice. Bobby often found himself lost in the rumors and half-truths of life that surrounded him. He was never what they thought or sought him to be; not a stoner, not a genius, just not in general. Bobby was their hero for some reason and the life of heroes never end well. Was it his good looks, his friendly personality, or something else that had people reacting to him with joyous smiles; he didn't know. He didn't care.
The Henderson were arguing again, over where she had been early that day. Bobby didn't want to hear, felt and knew it wasn't any of his business. Just some things can't be ignored and pushed to the back burner. It was Henderson's and their consonant fights often ending in bloodshed that inspired the greatest decision of his life. To become a police officer to have a voice for those like Amelia Henderson whose husbands' stolen them away. To protect those such as his mother who were more of a danger to themselves than anyone that neared by.
Sighing Bobby stands up brushing the dirt and grass particles off himself. Time to go home to watch the rain not fall.
