AN:I came up with this while scrolling through the dark pits of the internet.

It was a normal day for Chiba Mamoru. He walked to the magnetized train that would take him to the Biology department of Wethers Science University. Like every day the sleek, metallic, tube like train arrived at 7:45, and departed at 8:00. On a normal day, the train arrived at the University at precisely 8:15, allowing students 15 minutes before classes.

Today was not a normal day though. That day something happened that practically never happened in the utopian society of 4119. There was a break down. As the train was gliding through a tunnel, the fluorescent lights flickered off and the train jolted to a halt. The passengers looked around in confusion, as though to pinpoint the cause of the disturbance, when the monitor at the front of the compartment came to life.

A man appeared on the screen, with white hair, rimless glasses, and a lab coat.

"Hello," the man greeted, "I'm Professor Tomoe of the Artificial Intelligence department at Wethers Science University. I'm sorry for the power failure, my students seemed to have hit a limit. They are working on a project that requires quite a bit of energy. I'm sure it won't happen again, goodbye,"

The screen blinked off, and the train was flooded with light. It kept moving as though nothing had happened, and soon the students were deposited on campus, chattering excitedly.

Mamoru walked alone, absorbed in thought of what the project could be that it would take that much power. Not paying attention, he completely missed the small girl walking in front of him. Neither of them noticed what was happening until they collided and fell to the ground.

"Ahh…" Mamoru groaned, as he got to his feet and looked down at the girl he had knocked over. She was small and short in stature, with long blonde hair up in two buns and long pigtails pooling around her. He reached out his hand to help her up, but she brushed it off and stood on her own.

"I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to run into you!" The girl launched into an apology rambling on about how it was an accident. Mamoru felt like he had to stop her, since it wasn't her fault.

"It's okay odango-atama," The words were out of his mouth before he could stop them. She stopped and stared, before letting out an angry wail.

"What did you call me?" she bellowed.

"Sorry, sorry," Now he was the one apologizing, "I just thought your hair looks like a pair of odangoes. I don't recognize you are you new?"

The girl's angry look dropped. "I'm Usagi," she said, still a little defensive, as though he were going to make fun of her again. "I'm in the Artificial Intelligence department,"

Mamoru nodded, "Impressive, the A.I department is tough. Do you want me to show you around campus?" he inquired, stretching out a hand.

Usagi's friendly demeanor dropped as she pulled away quickly, "No sorry, I'm fine," The rushed reply was the only thing she said as she ran off towards the class building.

Mamoru was left to contemplate the conversation, and what went wrong, not noticing the peculiar gleam of light when the sun hit Usagi.
