"Bellamy can I see you for a second?" Abby request of her soon to be son-in-law as he walked past her open office. He stops midstride and backs up entering the room.
"What's up?" She had been debating and going over this for months now. How to approach the subject, not wanting to upset him, or have him take her words the wrong way.
"I wanted to give you something."
"What is it Abby?" She reaches up to the chain around her neck that held her last piece of Jake and the ultimate symbol of their love and removes it. For a moment she stares and the chain and the ring before extending her reach out towards Bellamy.
"I know if Jake was here he'd want you to have this."
"I can't accept this Abby." He tells her softly.
"Please. You deserve it. I have no need of it anymore. Before it was Jake's it was his dad's and his father before him. Now if it continued on prior to that we're not too sure. History gets a bit murky to be honest as you know. Bellamy, Jake had hoped to pass this on to either Clarke if she had been a boy or to her husband. If she chosen to go down that path. And I am so glad she has and with you. Please take it." He nods and takes the pieces of jewelry from her. He unhooks the chain allowing the ring to fall onto his open palm, he hands back the chain to her.
"Ah look at that. A perfect fit." Unexpectedly that hits her emotionally as he holds up his hand showing off the gift.
"It was meant to be. And Bellamy I want you to understand I'm not giving this to you because I don't think you can do better. It's not a pity gift." He laughs quietly.
"I never thought it was. Thank you. Not just for this but allowing me into your lives."
"You deserve it Bellamy."
