Hey guys! Jack here. I know I haven't been around for a really long time. I've had some things come up and I really needed some help that I finally got. I have missed you guys though. My writing has also improved tenfold, so my stories will be a lot more interesting, I promise. Alright, here's the revamped version of Chapter One- Rima's Only Hope. Hope you enjoy~
Senri pulled his love closer to him, gently closing his eyes as he took an inhale of her soft hair. Rima always smelled the way that he loved, which wasn't really surprising considering all of her perfumes were scents that Senri loved. The sun was hidden behind dense, dark curtains as he closed his eyes and just relaxed in the sounds of her breathing. Some days, he had no idea how he had gotten so lucky. To end up with a girl like Rima. It amazed him to no end, especially when he knew that he was no good for her. Taking in some characteristics like his father, there were sometimes where his anger issues had gotten the best of him and a mark would be placed on the pale model's body. However, being the vampire that the red-head was, the mark would swiftly disappear and no trace of anything happening would've been seen again. Senri closed his eyes, almost willing his body to sleep. But, it always seemed that in times like these, when the sun was still high in the sky and everyone else was in deep sleep, that he found himself being so wide awake. Perhaps it had to do with all of the ideas and thoughts protruding his mind. These days, it appeared that all he would think about was how badly he would mess up sometimes and how badly he wished that he didn't have such anger issues. Senri also knew that he couldn't blame everything on his father, either. Surely he had gotten the anger issues from him, but it was his own fault that he couldn't control it.
Not even moments after Senri had fallen back asleep, that Rima slowly scuttled out of bed. She used these moments when everyone was deep in their own sleep and Senri in his, to draw up a bath to relax in. Rima never really got her own time. A time where she could be by herself and relax in the presence on no one. These days, everyone was always seemed to want her to never be by herself. So, she was always with Ruka and Akatsuki, or she was always with Senri. Drawing herself a very warm bath, Rima slowly stripped out of her clothing and slid into the bathtub. The warm water caressed her pale skin and she moved all the way down until the waterline was up to her neck. She rested her head in the little headrest that stuck out from the side of the tub. While resting in the water, Rima closed her eyes to think about what her life had been like lately. Rima knew that Senri never meant to harm her. After all, they had been friends and childhood sweethearts as long as she could remember. She knew what his father had been like. Everyone that was close to the family did. It was something that had been kept under wraps. Only those that were close enough to the family knew certain secrets. Rima never really did think about it as abuse. More like, that he needed to take out his anger and she would be happy to sacrifice her own body to make him feel better. That was what their bond was. She would always be the one to take care of him. Senri's father was gone and his mother was very obsessive with him about his blood. So, Rima took it upon herself to take care of him as much as she could.
~ Next day ~
Rima walked into the living room, where she took a seat before opening a box of pockey and slowly began to eat it. It was a very awkward and quiet atmosphere after Rima walked in. Most of the Night Class students knew what was up between the two vampires but none of them would say a word against it. Most of them thought that it was not their place to speak against such happenings and the rest thought that Rima found some sick pleasure out of it. However, the majority of the Night Class were simply scared that if they did say something about it, and Rido being Senri's dad and all, that something tragic would happen to either; A) them, B) their families, or C) their social status. So, they just left it alone and didn't speak of it. A few students had left when Senri made an appearance at the top of the stairs and elegantly walked down them. Taking a seat next to his beloved, he'd whisper some words in her ear before kissing her on top of her head. After those words were said, Rima would blush and a few students, who overheard what was being said due to vampiric hearing, would quickly exit the room feeling as if they suddenly did not belong. Those who stayed were of the following; Ruka, Akatsuki, Takuma and Aidou.
It wasn't before long that Ruka had gently nudged Rima and invited her out to the balcony so that they could have a small talk together. She looked hesitantly at Senri who appeared to be nonchalant about the whole thing and simply nodding, as if giving her permission to go. Sometime after Rima and Ruka had disappeared, obviously not going on the balcony and more than likely going to Ruka's bedroom, Akatsuki had cast a slight glare over at Senri before finally speaking. Well, he would've spoken had it not had been for Hanabusa to quickly look over at the redhead and shook his head. It started to seem in times like these that Hanabusa knew what to say, when to say and by whom it should be said. And it appeared that this was one of these instances were Akatsuki could've crossed a line but Hanabusa had managed to stop him. It took one look from Hanabusa to understand that, "This isn't your place and now is definitely not the time to bring anything up." Was what the blond was trying to convey. Knowing that the blond was right about what he was saying, Akatsuki backed down and simply turned his head to stare out of the window. Takuma used this brief pause in movements to quietly excuse himself from the room.
"I'm not some brat you can just push to the side or act like I don't exist, you know." Senri began in a calm voice. "Don't think that I don't know what you're trying to do. You can't save everyone Aidou." The darker red-haired boy would response with an amused hum. He had been watching the two's facial expressions and movements ever since his lover had walked out of the room with Ruka. "Oh please, don't try to deny anything. I'm not as stupid as I look." He mused with a soft chuckle. Hanabusa looked over with a glare but didn't say anything in return. He didn't need to. The blond knew that no matter what he had said, Senri was never going to back down and it would only make matters worse for Rima in the long run.
"You know that none of us are scared of you, right?" Hanabusa asked, bluffing quite a bit. Well, the truth of the matter would be that they weren't scared of Senri. It was more of the fact that they were scared of Senri's father, Rido and of what he could do to them. There were times, however, when Kaname's leadership had won them over and they would do anything for Kaname, providing he'd back their demands and requests. Saving Rima, it had seemed wasn't one of the requests that Kaname could back. Those that knew of Kaname's past, namely only Hanabusa and Akatsuki (due to their consistent digging) and Takuma (whose knowledge of matters like these were unprecedented to the two), understood Kaname's relationship with Rido for some part, excluding Takuma who understood it entirely and thoroughly. So, they came to the conclusion that even though Kaname could demolish Rido to the point where it would take years for his body to even form a body once more, there was no way Kaname could kill him. "I mean, taking one look at you, you really aren't that even scary. More annoying than anything." He commented snidely. Akatsuki cleared his throat, which basically meant, 'Hanabusa, you're treading on dangerous waters here. Be careful. Please.'
Senri laughed, like whole-heartedly laughed. "Oh please. Do you honestly think I'm that ignorant? I'm not stupid unlike some others in this room. Nor do I act purely out of emotion." He wiped away the tears that were threatening to fall from laughing so hard. "I know very well that, in fact, it's not me you're scared of. But that does not mean I am not capable of taking care of myself. Do you honestly believe that I would run off and tell Daddy Dearest when something didn't go my way? You honestly must not have that much faith in me at all. Such a shame." He'd chuckle and shook his head. "I'm not some snivel-nosed brat. I can take care of myself, you know. Let me just give you a piece of advice, if you're trying to scare me… Give up, it's not working." He'd sneer.
~ In the Meantime ~
After being dragged off by Ruka to Ruka's bedroom, Rima gently sat down on the bed, her emotionless face, remaining the same. Taking in a breath of fresh air, she raise an elegant eyebrow upwards. "What do you want, Ruka?" The petite vampire would ask, casting her gaze upwards as she waited for Ruka to take a seat as well. The taller of the two finally sat down, burying her face into her hands before sighing and looking back upwards up at Rima. "We…" She'd pause before continuing on with what she had to say. "We all know what he does to you, Rima." She'd begin before moving to sit down next to Rima. "You know that Kaname would protect you." Lies but still, she hoped that would give Rima some—any even—courage if she had heard those words. "We can get you out of this, Rima. But it seems like you're not even willing to try." She'd comment, sounding desperate to save her friend.
"What goes on between Senri and I is really none of your concern, Ruka. Nor the others." She spoke quietly, not really listening to what she was saying. Her own body had been on auto-pilot for so long now, she couldn't even remember how it was to hold a normal conversation without an automatic response. Though, this was one of her coping mechanisms, it seemed to hurt her more than help. Her voice remained as impassive as ever as she continued. "And I really don't see why you would want to mess with my relationship status. We both very well know that what you said about Kaname was a lie. The only thing that Kaname truly cares about is Yuki Cross. Everyone else is fair game to others as long as we don't disobey him." Rima felt the words flow smoothly out of her mouth without even flinching.
Ruka just sat there, shaking with anger. "You have no right to say such things. We'd all die for you. To save you. What was it when Rido had taken over Senri's body for that time being? Do you even remember what you had told him?" Ruka asked grabbing her hands. The action had caused Rima to jump and her eyes swiftly shifted upwards to meet Ruka's. "You really need to learn to love yourself more. Isn't that what you told him? Since when do you stop taking your own advice? The Rima I knew wasn't a hypocrite." Ruka would respond with disbelief in her tone as Rima just sat there, trying to not look emotionally fazed. In truth, she was shaken up inside and didn't know how to express herself properly anymore.
"What I do now is none of your concern." She'd repeat herself, shaking off Ruka's hands. "The Rima you knew died a long time ago. There was no need for her in this world anymore." Rima stumbled over her words for a fraction of a second before composing herself. "Now, if all you wanted to do was interrogate me, then I'll be taking my leave." She said, a bit briskly as she stood up and brushed off her skirt as if tons of dirty had somehow accumulated on it. "If you really want to help me, Ruka. Stay away." Rima replied as she had turned around to head for the door. It was a warning really. She didn't want her friends getting hurt the way she had. Rima had no right to drag them into the mess that she had created for herself. Ruka could only stare at her back as the other had walked away, unable to bring herself to say anything that might've changed her friend's mind.
