Prompt: "Alex's most memorable digging/gardening moments" (meaning digging for info, actually digging and finding something, actual gardening...something along these lines)

Alex stared at the woman sitting in front of him.

"So my uncle planted a flashdrive in the garden at my house ten years ago and now you want me to dig it up?"

"Yes, as ridiculously as it seems, it's true. We're hoping it still works," Mrs. Jones replied.

"Why would it still work after being in the ground for ten years!? Why didn't you guys take it?"

"We didn't want it at the time and told Ian to put it somewhere safe. That's what he did."

Alex sighed.

"I'll be back tomorrow."

"Have fun Alex."

"No."

With that Alex closed the door and left the bank.

"Hey, Tom, what are you doing right now?"

"Not much. Why?"

"I have to dig up the garden at my house. Help."

"I'll be there in ten."

"Thanks, Tom."

"No problem, Alex."

The two hung up and met up.

When Tom arrived at Alex's house he was handed a shovel.

"So why are we digging up your garden?"

"Apparently Ian hid a flashdrive in the garden ten years ago so I have to dig it up."

"Why didn't '6 take it?"

"Don't ask me. I think Jones regreted not taking it."

"Really?"

"Yeah. But everyone there is insane. I swear?"

Tom laughed.

"Are you including yourself in that description?"

"Obviously. You would have to be to do what I do. So how was school for you?"

"Pretty good. I got a couple of A's this year which is good."

"That's great."

Alex tepped back to look at the destruction he and Tom did to the garden. They sifted through the soil, finding nothing before Alex decided to look at the plants. Alex went through each plant before finding one with a long bulge in its stem.

"I think I found it Tom. Thank you for helping me."

"Your welcome. See you tomorrow?"

"Yeah. Bye."

"Bye."

Tom left as Alex cut the stem which revealed the flashdrive.

"How on earth did that happen?" Alex asked himself. Alex shrugged, pocketing the flashdrive."I'll give this to Jones tomorrow." Alex sighed and placed all the dug up plants back into the ground, hoping they would continue to grow.

"I'm sure the plants will be fine. Nature's resilient."
