[your secret of a clandestine autumn]
Ouran High School Host Club
"Clandestine Autumns"
"And autumn," Tamaki continued, the violet of his eyes shining as he wrapped an arm around the girl's waist, gently leaning toward her. "can be the most romantic of them all, with the breezes whipping in a lady's hair as she stares into her lover's eyes, before the imminent farewell." The customer's hands flew to her lips as she felt her heartstrings tighten faintly, until she dropped both to grasp his arms for support.
"But, Tamaki-sama, I can't bear to part from you," she breathed, on the verge of tears. Tamaki gave a small, thespian gasp, then shut his eyes as he brought his face close to hers.
"Nor I you, milady."
"Tamaki-sama!"
No less than twenty feet away, Kyoya and Renge stood watching, clipboard and referential doujinshi whipped out for business. Renge was flipping viciously through a copy titled 'Love Behind the Folding Screen' as Kyoya scribbled a short note on copyright infringement.
"Yes, that was most definitely volume five, right before Youji-kun's mother's offers her to a brothel," Renge announced, triumphant. "An expert can't be wrong about these things."
"No, generally they're paid not to be," Kyoya remarked vaguely. He ran through what little he knew of copyright law in his head and decided he could discuss it with Haruhi later. "What are the chances we'll be confronted about leaving citations out of the scrapbook?"
"With the number of rivals the Ohtori company enjoys, they're greater than they should be," Renge stated matter-of-factly. Then, as her eyes passed volume five, they lit up. "Or we could just sell copies! Advertise for Yumi-sensei, and not without a percentage paid to her, of course!"
Kyoya tapped his pen against the clipboard, smiling. "Tamaki would like that."
"I'm sure Fake-Prince-kun has a full collection that he would gladly lend us as samples..."
As she turned back to her doujinshi with fever in her eyes, Kyoya returned to his data and made a note of Renge's surprising efficiency in the sale of certain items. For future reference, of course. He would enjoy working alongside a mind like hers.
