"Spring. Definitely Spring. What do you think?" she asked him, looking over a calender book on the living room couch. Legs stretching the length of the couch, settling on a very comfy lap. The man the lap belonged to merely shrugged.
"Spring sounds good," he said, rather lazily while watching the TV. Transfixed on a particular Blitzball game. She stared at him with a bit of suspicion.
"Hmm..." she sighed and back to her calender book. "Maybe April... No. May's better. Don't you think so?" she continued to ask and he responded with the same shrug.
"May sounds great," he said lazily again. Now her suspicion reached it's peak and decided to test him.
"Lets see... I was thinking... having the reception on Venus. Is that good with you?"
"Sounds great."
"Sora..." she groaned, slapping the book on his arm and he winced from the pain.
"What?" he asked very innocently and she rolled her eyes.
"Would you pay attention. This is very important you know," she nagged, glaring at him and he continued to look innocently at her.
"I know it is," he simple said and doubt shown on her eyes.
"I'm not sure you do. I mean, this is our wedding, Sora. It's suppose to be perfect."
"I know, Kairi," he sighed and then thought, boy do I. For the last several months, after he proposed to her, she has said nothing but the wedding to be perfect in every way possible. Sure she said she wanted a simple wedding, but that hasn't stopped her from the preparations.
"How about this," she said, shaking his thoughts as well holding the calender book before him. "You choose the date." He decided to play along and gave a small glance at the page.
"Hmm... This looks good," he said, resting his index finger on the page. She looked to wear it point and it was sitting between two different dates.
"Sora," she groaned and he turned to her again.
"Huh?"
"I swear, it's like you don't even care," she huffed. He turned off the TV and his full attention now on her.
"Kairi, I do care. You know that."
"I know but... you're acting like choosing a date is not important."
"That's because it isn't," he said directly, surprising her. He then took the book away from her and replaced it with his own hands in hers. Sincerity written in his dark ocean eyes. "Kairi, I want to marry you. I don't care when or how, as long as I get to spend the rest of my life with you. To me, that's all that matters."
A guilty feeling settled in her stomach. She looked down at their joined hands with a heaviness in her gaze. She hated that Sora was always the one interested in others needs and forgetting that was what made him so special. The part that made her fall in love with him in the first place. For a split second she had merely forgotten how much he really meant to her, as she did him.
"Sora..." she took away one of her hands from him and rested her forehead on her palm. Feeling ashamed of herself. "God, I must sound like a control freak."
He merely smiled as he then picked up her legs and inched closer to her. Practically sitting on his lap now, she looked up at him and saw that gaze with a loving look that always made her heart rush.
"Hey, if anything, Spring is a great season," he said, closing the gap between their faces. She smiled at him as she wrapped her arms around his neck.
"Then again, so does Summer," she said with a little teasing tone as he continued to close the gap.
"Spring, Summer, whenever."
My second KH fic. This kinda came out late last night when I was just about to fall asleep. I've been toying around with the idea before but I just happen to work out the details. Late... Anyways, I'd like to hear what you have to say.
Flames or constructive criticism? There's a thin line there.
