Why Hello there! I'm back from the dead (maybe) I have decided to post another story instead of finishing my many other stories, oh well if you're not happy with that decision. Anyways I hope you like it, enjoy!
Chapter 1: New Beginnings
Love was a cruel thing. It caused distractions, it caused pain, and it caused mistakes. That's probably how I ended up in the situation I'm In, flipping Grey Goose bottles over my head and breathing fire. Well not really breathing fire, because that would kill a vampire but you get the gist. Anyways, a lot of different circumstances made my reality an upscale dive bar named Jacks in Houston, Texas but, I'll pin it all on love. Edward Cullen is a dick head immortal who acts like a child, this was a fact not an opinion.
The sound of Jessie yelling my name across the bar caught my attention as I realized he was being overrun by drink orders. We were busy tonight, which was surprising, and Jessie couldn't keep up, not surprising. I never did understand how he became a bar manager. He couldn't tell a mixed drink from his ass and he was slow as hell. I quickly took orders and started filling up tall glasses of bitter amber liquid for the regulars and shook nasty fruity cocktails together for the obvious tourists who couldn't keep talking about some Haunted House they had just got back from. I never understood the concept of them even as a human, why would you pay money for someone dressed up to scare you? Humans were strange. I had only been a vampire for 3 years but I could already feel myself distant from my human life. I'm not that same girl, and I never will be.
After the mob of preppy white girls had been sated I started walking around the bar to make small talk. As I was making conversation to a slightly intoxicated man the hairs on the back of my arms rose, and my back stiffened. I politely ended the conversation with the awe stricken man and turned to find the vampire who dared encroach on my territory. This part of town was my feeding ground and I would rip apart anybody who dare challenge me. I smelled the air and was eventually led to a small female sitting quietly in the back booth of the bar, watching me. She gave me a knowing smirk as I slid in the booth in front of her.
"Who are you, and why are you here? This part of town is claimed." I said as forcibly but gently as possible. I wanted her to know she was in the wrong, but not scare her.
"Oh I know it is my dear, I was just passing by and thought I would sit and chat for a bit, and maybe make a proposition that would peak your interest." The stranger said with a velvety voice.
"And how would you know what would peak my interest?" I said casually looking at my nails.
"It's obvious no? You seek what we all do. Power, territory, and maybe even a little love?" she gave me a knowing look and I had to remember to keep my facial expressions in check, she was a little to cheeky for my liking.
"Power and Territory are a solid yes but I'll pass on the love part. I've had enough of that for a few century's." I said with conviction.
"Ah someone shattered your heart I see. But that is the past yes? I would love to do business with you ms.?"
"Isabella" I say with a coy smile. "And you are?" I ask with narrowed eyes.
"My name is Maria young one, and I think we will get along just fine."
