The earliest memories she had was of the sea.
She remembered walking on the docks hand in hand with mother. The sea's salty waves lapped against the sands of the beach. Sea shells glinting in the setting sun's light. Sitting on the beach in the night.
The stars.
They were beautiful. Glowing in their own heartbeat, each one a different and special melody.
Mother had told her about the different things hidden in the stars.
Constellations - she remembered.
Stars...
They were like guiding lights.
Will I ever be that powerful?
The second memory was the worst.
Rocks, pebbles, sticks thrown to her small, fragile body. She was always a weak child.
She remembered the strange fruit. Eating the star fruit that tasted like everything and nothing at once.
It was terrible.
The stars were now inside herself. Everything else ... gone.
Maybe her friends will still like her with this new power?
Blood from her head.
Blood on her arms.
Blood stains her shirt.
Screams.
Fear.
Why?
She had only shown them a fragment of her new power.
She had not harmed any of them. They only harmed her.
Inside and out.
Mother bandaged her wounds.
The other children think she is a freak.
Witch.
Beast.
Monster.
The next memories had gotten better.
Staying inside is fun. She gets to stay up and watch the stars at night. Mother seems to be worried, but she tells her everything is alright.
Even if she cannot seem to figure out how to smile anymore.
She helps mother out, of course. Helping around the bar and serving customers.
Maybe this will be the rest of her life.
Maybe nobody will weep when she is erased from here.
Maybe she should just become one with the ocean.
Or maybe she should cease to exist.
Until he came - the Sun.
His light burned away all and gave her what she wanted most.
Friendship.
Now she has something to live for.
The memories after that were a blur.
Leaving mother and going to the forest.
Gaining brothers.
Another family.
A choice for freedom.
Becoming strong.
Fighting alongside the others.
Her Sun leaving.
Sadness... But hope still remaining.
Leaving everything familiar.
To protect her Sun.
Sailing.
Going through dangerous waters.
Battling with her freak powers, but everyone thought her to be strong.
Not a monster.
Not a freak.
Normal in these crazy waters.
But Strong.
Finally gaining more friends.
Accepted into this strange family.
Riding the King of Animals.
To another,
Adventure.
This is her story.
One of hardship and denial.
And it all began with a single twist in fate...
