Veronica couldn't believe it. Duncan Kane was Lily's killer, it couldn't be true. Duncan was a sweet innocent thing, he was her boyfriend long ago, although there may be something still there. Real problem anyway was does she tell dad, he has been working on this since Lily died, it is what lost his sheriff job and what gained his detective job. She didn't know what to do, it would tear the Kane family apart, it would destroy everybody's lives. Duncan would never be able to step foot in Neptune again.
"Veronica, I'm home," her dad called.
"In the kitchen," she replied.
"Come in here, I want to talk about the Lily case," her dad shouted.
Veronica braced herself, she was about to tell her dad who the murderer was. At least she thought she was.
"Dad?"
"Veronica, I have new information about the Lily case,"
"Dad, no I … I …," What was she doing? Tell him, come on, come on.
"I want to drop the Lily case," Oh god what was she doing?
"Veronica …"
"Veronica, something must have changed for you to say that, what's wrong?"
"NOTHING, I just want to drop it OK?"
"Okay, it's dropped"
Kevin suddenly knew why she wanted to drop it, she must know who the killer is. God, why did he let his 17 year old daughter work on that case? He looked at his daughter, she was so tough, yet vulnerable. He wondered how much she had been through since Lily's death.
"I am going to Wallis's place Okay?"
"Uhuh," Keith managed to stumble out. He made a promise to himself when he started his detective work that he would never let one case come between them. Now have a look at them. Should he confront her? What should he do? What should he do?
