To Find Out or Not
"Honey, can we talk?" Jackie asked as she sat gingerly down on the couch next to him.
She was still what seemed like forever from her due date but she already had what felt like to her as a big belly, although surprisingly her doctor said that she was in the lower yet still normal range for weight gain for this point in her pregnancy, she wasn't sure how she could be in the lower percentile because she felt huge but her doctor assured her that that was the case.
"I want to ask you if you'd be alright if we found out whether they were boys or girls, or one of each, I know you really wanted to wait but I can't stand it."
"Aw, come on Jacks, please let's be surprised, it's more than likely the last time you'll ever be pregnant, wouldn't it be such a fun surprise?"
"More, than likely my last time? I've got news for you Nicky this is my last time, we are done after these two little munchkins join us, period, end of story."
Nick laughed.
"Alright then, I repeat, wouldn't it be fun to be surprised?"
"No" She insisted.
He laughed at her again.
"Please?" He asked her.
"Honey, that's torture." She argued.
"I think we should wait." He insisted.
She sighed.
He smiled at her, she was adorable when she was frustrated.
"I think they are both girls." Jackie informed him.
"Oh yeah? Why's that?"
"I don't know, that's just what I think. What do you think they are?" She asked him.
"I've been thinking all along that's it's one of each, I'm not sure why, that's just what I've always thought."
She smiled at him and he smiled back and put his arm around her.
"Hey I have an idea, why don't we find out what one is but leave the other one a surprise, that way we'll both get what we want?" Jackie suggested.
"That's a great idea Jacks, and what an awesome compromise!" Nick said happily.
"Now I can't wait for my appointment in a couple days!
"Me neither, it will be fun!"
