Hello Readers, this is my first attempt at fanfiction so I thought I would start with a one-shot. Anyway feel free to give constructive criticism and tips. I hope you find a little closure for Ahsoka in this like I did.
Filled with emotion is how Asajj found her. Lying in the aftermath of what she had done, what she had just condemned herself to. All her dreams of being a Jedi Knight so close but being unable to get past her emotions and loss of faith to live her dream. A dream that had now twisted itself with reality into a nightmare, it was such a pure and innocent dream that the dark and darned real world had turned into an unrealistic possibility. Happy ever after and adventure don't naturally occur, that only happened in books. So when Ahsoka look back at her life so far she realises how lucky she's been, the order had sheltered her from the harsh reality of the worlds around her and that step she'd took into padawanship had been supposed to ease the transition from kid's fun adventure story kind of reality to the dark and haunted adult fiction type world. And although she'd been slowly learning and gaining the instincts need to survive in reality (and she just might scrape by) the bombing had been a slap in the face.
She'd been made to stare into the face of death then told, "Oh, I'm sorry, here take this sweet lolly" by the same people. Only now she knew that the sweet had a sour aftertaste. Asajj was kind of sympathetic, but in an Okay-your-hurt-but-get-off-your-ass-and-keep-going kind of way. And that's exactly what Ahsoka did. She took Asajj's hand and let her emotions go. That part of her life was over now. No going back, only forward. They'd both lost their light sabres, their masters, their factions, but somehow there they were with new beginnings on their doorstep (if they had a door to step through) and somehow in all this mess they'd found each other. Or rather Asajj had found her and tried for the bounty on her head… But that was in the past and her name had been cleared so they were even. No, wait she owed Asajj (she hadn't cleared Asajj's bounty like she'd promised). She would have to pay her back one day. Ahsoka was determined to settle her debt to the Ex-Sith Assassin.
They decide to stick together, at least for a while until they'd gotten some credits and maybe something as a replacement for their lost blades. So when the time came to part ways, Ahsoka on a frigate set to some distant planet and asajj to a bounty hunter job in the higher levels of Coruscant they had found a friend in each other despite their different personalities. But at the same time when Ahsoka looked at Asajj she saw her past and that was something she was desperately in need have time away from if she was going to start anew. So when Asajj watched the young women with a chip on her shoulder turn and walk up the ramp of the freighter she knew it was for the best. Ahsoka had grown into a tough but reliable women, she was ready to face the world again and in order for her past to be her past Asajj was going to have to say goodbye. But she hadn't forgotten the debt owed to her, maybe one day she'd realise Ahsoka had already repaid it in a kind of sideways sort of way. Because although Asajj had managed to scrape a life for herself after leaving Duku's service, she hadn't fully left her past behind until she'd lost her red sabres. They'd been a reminder of the sad path of a life she'd walked. Losing one person after another until all she had was bitterness and hate. Now without them maybe she too could start anew. She just hadn't realised it yet.
