This is a really short one-shot from the episode "Dirty Bomb" in season one. I hope that you enjoy! I've got two other one-shots from episodes coming out soon and the final chapter of "Revived" will be up this week, Lord willing! Please read and leave a comment when you are done! Thanks - you guys are the best!
No one at the basketball game said "thank you".
Why would they? The people seated in front of them were not wearing their FBI jackets, speaking through earwigs, or holstering their guns. Instead they wore hoodies and sweatpants and freely joked and teased one another. The only weapon was popcorn that the Aussie kept tossing into the uptight one's hair.
The FBI agents did not say anything to the people around them about how they had been saved from a gory death by radiation exposure. The agents were there to relax, unwind, and release all of the nervous energy that had been building up in the office during their last case. They did not expect - or want - praise or thanks. The fact that they were unknown, the fact that their latest rescue of Washington, D.C. was unknown, meant that they had done their jobs well. Not one of them would have asked for anything more.
It was another great game - and day - in America.
And that was all the thanks that they wanted.
