Note: Depressing stuff. :

"Spring's coming around soon, huh?" Kaito sat beside the bed, looking out the window, then averted his eyes toward the sickened young blond who was sitting up as well.

"Yeah," Len had his usual gentle smile. "It might even start a few days from now..." After that, silence followed. Behind his genuinely sweet smile was deep sorrow. He has been struggling with his disease, and Kaito knew it only a few days ago, when Len was coughing up blood in the comfort room and called out for help and, fortunately, Kaito was within reach.

Although, despite Len's illness, it didn't matter to himself, as long as he's with Kaito, and even if he died, his soul would be watching over his beloved.

"Should we go out?" Len broke the silence as Kaito nodded and went to get dressed.

The moment they got out, Len was running all of a sudden. He never experienced snow in his whole life. "Hey!" Kaito yelled from afar, in a joking way. "Don't run around like you aren't sick!" Len, on the contrary with his behaviour, experienced being stubborn for the first time too. Kaito couldn't help but join in, chasing Len in circles.

Kaito was suddenly hit by a snowball, luckily only on his torso, as the other boy laughed aloud. "Oh really?" Kaito raised an eyebrow and bent down, starting to make another snowball.

"Yeah really!" Len yelled as he threw a bigger one. "Bull's-eye!"

After a few moments of laughing and playing snowball fight, Len felt really dizzy and couldn't think clearly anymore, looking at the man who was now soaked in snow.

"Kaito-nii-san," Len managed to utter, and gave a weak smile before collapsing. The blue-haired man managed to dust himself off and run toward the yellow-haired one before he fell on the cold white snow.

"Hey! Len, are you okay?! Answer me!" Kaito gently shook the young boy, tears starting to form in his eyes.

"Kaito-nii-san..." Len whispered gently with what voice and breath he has left. "It's okay... J-just remember one thing..." he went through a long coughing period before he uttered his last words. "I love you..."

"Shh... Len, I – "

Before Kaito could finish, Len couldn't keep his eyes open anymore, spent his last time looking at his beloved, and kept his smile on even if pure blackness already entered his vision.

"Len, wake up! Please!" Kaito helplessly screamed, sorrowful tears rolling down from his cheeks and hugged the boy's body.

What Kaito didn't know was that, during this whole time, Len had already known that Kaito loved him the same way he himself did.
