Did I ever picture myself working anywhere other than the BAU? No. But here I am walking through the doors of the New York Crime Lab. I didn't know how to feel about this situation to be honest. I loved my job as a Profiler. But apparently I would be more use here, being that I am certified in Crime Scene Investigation, a 1st Grade Homicide Detective, as well as profiling. My previous boss, Aaron 'Hotch' Hotchner, set up a meeting with my new boss, Mac Taylor today. I arrived from Virginia about 2 weeks ago. Aaron arrived about 3 hours ago for the meeting I was already 5 minutes late to. Great.
"Sorry for being late. It took me a while to get here, and security needed all these papers." I looked at the apologetically. Detective Taylor just nodded, while Hotch looked somewhat annoyed at my lateness. Typical Hotch if ya ask me. He and I always got along but he did like everything to be perfect and courteous. I took my seat and looked down at my hands placed upon the table.
"So, your name is Cara Giovanna, and you are a certified Profiler, 1st Grade Homicide Detective, and a CSI." Mac asked me reading from papers that were obviously my files and resume.
"Yes Sir. But just call me Cara." I said looking at him and glancing at Hotch. It was hard to tell what he was feeling about me leaving the BAU. I'm going to miss it, but I suppose this change is for the better.
"Sounds good. We are happy to have you be a part of our team. "
"Glad to be a part." I smiled and shook his hand.
"I better be going. Good luck Cara. I know you can do it." Hotch said opening his arms for a friendly hug. I hugged him and said my goodbyes. It all ends here for me and the FBI.
"I suppose I should show you your new office, and meet your new team." Detective Taylor suggested.
"Detective Taylor, I get my own office?" I asked.
"Yes you do, and please, call me Mac." We walked to my new office that was between his and some other man who wasn't in there at the moment. Glass walls? Not much privacy in here. Oh well. I can deal. There are blinds I can pull.
"This is lovely. Thank you very much." I said placing my bag on my desk. There was a Mac desktop, a laptop, and a really cool lava lamp. "I like the lava lamp." I said with a laugh.
"It was a gift from Lindsey. You'll meet her soon. Come on." Mac said. I followed him down the hall and into a room full of people; Most likely my new team. I usually was never nervous, but this was an exception. I gave a nervous wave and smile at them while Mac introduced me.
The room full of people each took a turn to introduce themselves; Jo seemed like such a caring person, Lindsey was the sweetest girl ever, Danny seemed like a fun guy, Adam was just adorable, Sheldon seemed very kind, Sid was really nice, and well; then there was Don. Don Flack.
I hope you guys enjoyed the first look at my new story! More coming soon :D
THE ONLY CHARACTER I OWN IS CARA GIOVANNA
