"Britts," Santana said slowly, taking both of the blonde's hands into hers. "Did your mom ever talk to you about birth control? Condoms? Anything?" Just a minute ago, she had been openly making fun of Quinn's currently predicament, because come on, how dumb do you have to be to get yourself knocked up? There were enough resources out there, all you had to do was pick one. Brittany countered with a comment about how you couldn't just pick when the stork came, and Santana's heart sank. "Hey, it's just me. You know you can talk to me about anything, right? It's okay…"

"Like.. a burglar alarm?" Brittany asked, tilting her head to the side. "Mr. Burt said something about that when I was giving Kurt lady kisses." She scrunched her nose. "It didn't really make sense, San. Everyone knows the stork leaves the baby in a nest outside your house, so it's not like it even has a reason to break in.. y'know?"

"No," Santana shook her head. "I.. don't know." Because that didn't make a lick of sense to her. "Um.. okay, let's try it this way. When you.. have sex, with boys…" Clarification was necessary at this stage in their.. arrangement. "…what do you do to keep from becoming the next Fatty Fabray?"

Brittany shrugged. "Usually they just pull out. It's kind of gross, but they say it feels better than with the condom. I just want them to like it." The unspoken.. she wanted them to like her. While Santana used sex to her advantage, Brittany was giving it away for scraps of affection.

"You shouldn't give a fuck how it feels for them," Santana hissed. "This is about you, protecting your body. Who cares about boys?"

"I do," Brittany said quietly. "They smell nice and I like when they give me their letterman jackets. Lord Tubbington thinks they make an excellent cat nest." She slipped her hands away from Santana's. "How's a condom going to protect me, anyway?"

"What do you mean, Britts? It'll keep you from shopping in the maternity section with Quinn. Of course it'll protect you." There were times when Santana compared talking to Brittany to arguing with a brick wall.

Except for those brief moments of clarity.

"They can't protect your heart."

And that, she was right about.
