Well, it has been a while, but let's see what you say about this one.

This takes a place in somewhere 16th century or so. All you need to know is that Iceland is still a kid in this one. Rest you will find out later.

"Are you comfortable?" Denmark asked when he moved his horse to walk next to the Norwegian's grey mare. Norway glanced at him, subtly checking that there were no new signs of fighting on the Dane, and then he nodded.

"How was the front?" he asked, "no bandits?"

"Not any. I think they heard about us and are long gone now", Denmark replied and reached to ruffle the hair of the Icelander sitting on the horse front of Norway, "hey, kid, everything fine?" Iceland nodded sleepily and yawned before snuggling back against the Norwegian. He always got sleepy during long rides and had just barely woke up to see the Dane coming back.

"Good", Norway said, draping his cape better around the Icelander to protect him from the wind, "you know that you have to alert me if we are going into a conflict."

"I thought we agreed that you stay back with Island", Denmark said.

"I prefer to be aware if you get into a fight", the Norwegian replied shorty. He didn't show any specific emotions behind his words, but Denmark smiled warmly and checked quickly that the rest of the group was in good distance, before giving the man a quick peck on the cheek.

"I will let you know", he smiled. Norway nodded shortly, and they both fell in silence that was still somewhat comforting. Norway had decided to stay further back from the main group, even when he had been told it was dangerous to stay too far. He simply wanted some peace, and a chance to talk freely with Iceland. The young nation had still got a mind of child, although Norway had noticed him acting more and more like an adult, and sometimes he spoke about things he should not speak about around humans or that were way too complicate for a child to understand.

"I think we will be soon in Leiden", Denmark noted when few hours had passed, "it has been such a long time ago I saw Ned last time. It will be fun to catch up with him."

"Just remember that we are here for business, too", Norway said, although he and Iceland were traveling mostly for leisure. At least officially it was so, but Denmark had demanded the rights to have the Norwegian with him also because he needed his help for the business part. Norway was simply better with that kind of stuff.

"Of course", Denmark said with a nod and smile. He would do his job, but he was allowed to enjoy the trip too. In fact, he was already enjoying it. It had been long time since he had travelled with Norway like that and the trip was bringing up good memories from the past. Sure, they were using horses this time instead of boats, but it didn't matter so long when Norway was with him.

"I have a bad feeling about this trip", Norway suddenly said.

"How come?" Denmark said and glanced at him, but the Norwegian was sitting on his horse completely calm and keeping his hand away from the sword tied on the saddle.

"I don't know", he said with a shrug, "keep your eyes open, Dane, and be careful until we are back home again."

"Okay", Denmark said with a nod, trusting on the Norwegian and his warning, "I will keep close to you two just in case, too." Norway nodded shortly, turning his attention to the Icelander who was mumbling quietly in his sleep. Denmark smiled when he saw the soft look on the Norwegian's face, and for while he hoped they would have been completely alone so he could have get closer and hug them.
