Mine

Cammie's POV:

I sighed as Zach closed the door behind him. Zach went to go get our 2 kids from mom's place. I turned on the radio. Mine by Taylor Swift came on the radio. I sat down and listened. The lyrics...they mostly described my love life. I suddenly had flashbacks.

You were in college, working part-time, waiting tables. Left a small town and never looked back.

I was a flight risk, with a fear of falling.

Wondering why we bother with love, if it never lasts.

I say, "Can you believe it?"

As we're lying on the couch. The moment, I could see it,

Yes, yes, I can see it now.

*Flashback*

I was sitting in Starbucks waiting for Bex. Zach came through the door surely to buy a Latte. He saw me while I sat there sipping a cappuccino. He ordered and sat down right next me. I looked at him. "Hi" I said. He smiled at me. I smiled. "Hey, Gallagher Girl." I looked at him and then looked down. His green eyes were looking at me with a fiery gaze. "How have you been? Its been so long." I agreed. It had been 6 months since I had seen Zach. He got up to get his Latte. Then he came up to me. He held his hand out to me. "Lets get out of here." I took it and we ran in the rain to Zach's apartment. We came into the apartment and he pushed me against the door and kissed me. I kissed him back. I savored the moment. He led me to the couch and we sat down and watched Netflix. We were watching Pretty Little Liars and Aria and Ezra had just broken up. I said, "Wow. Can you believe it? We do we even bother with love? We're always on missions." He looked at me. "You wanna know why we bother?" I nodded. "Because...Cam...I'll always love you. And no matter what I'll be with you. "I smiled. I never really trusted being in love. But with Zach...I could see it. See us. I smiled at Zach. I kissed him lightly and led him into the bedroom to get some sleep. We laid down. I snuggled into Zach's side. He was the reason I started to believe in love. I could see it now.

*End Of Flashback*

Do you remember, we were sitting by there, by the water? You put your arm

around me for the first time.

You made a rebel of a careless man's careful daughter.

You are the best thing thats ever been mine

*Flashback*

Zach took me to the beach. We were 17 but secretly in love. He suddenly put his arm around me. I blushed. He smirked. He kissed my head. The other girls on the beach glared at me. Of course I could care less. I was with Zach. I let him walk me towards the waves. He then splashed me with water. "Zach!" We started having a water fight. He then hugged me to his chest. I looked up at him. He smiled at me. A genuine smile. I grinned. He kissed me and pulled me under water for the best underwater kiss ever. When we resurfaced we were grinning like crazy. He's the best thing that I've ever had. and I could call him mine.

*End Of Flashback*

Flash foward, and we're taking on the world together

And there's a drawer of my things at your place

You learn my secrets and you figure out why I'm guarded.

You say we'll never make my parents mistakes.

*Flashback*

I had just moved in with Zach. Zach knows my secrets. I trusted him everyday. I loved him. He knew why I was guarded. He knew what happened when I was 12. He knew me. The real me. And I knew him. He always promised me we wouldn't do what my parents did.

*End Of Flashback*

But we got bills to pay

We got nothing figured out.

When I was hard to take.

Yes, yes.

This is what I thought about

*Flashback*

After I moved in with Zach we had an apartment to ourselves. We had bills to pay. Even though it was hard to take, we made it through together. We loved each other everyday and we made it past every day. And now that I think about it. This is what I think about when I see my future. My future is the boy grinning in front of me. My future is Zachary Goode.

*End Of Flashback*

Do you remember, we were sitting, by the water?

You are the best thing thats ever been mine

You put your arm around me for the first time.

You made a rebel of a careless man's careful daughter.

You are the best thing thats ever been mine

Do you remember all the city lights on the water?

You saw me start to believe for the first time.

You made a rebel of a careless mans careful daughter.

You are the best thing that's ever been mine.

*Flashback*

I'm 19 and Zach had a date planned on this beautiful evening. I remember when Zach first put his arm around me. That the best day of my life. I got into the the car. Zach suddenly blindfolded me. "Wha-Zach? What are you doing?" I could hear the smirk in his voice when he said, "Be patient, Gallagher Girl. You'll see soon enough." His voice wavered at the end with a hint of nervousness. I wonder why. Zach's never nervous...well I guess I'll find out later. When we got there Zach led me through...sand? "Wait...are we...are we where I think we are?" I asked Zach. Zach just murmured an "Mhm" He then took off the blindfold. In front of me were two chairs and a big screen. I looked at Zach and he smiled shyly. I know right. When is Zach shy? He started projecting the movie and I gasped. He put on my favorite movie. I got up from my chair and went over to him and hugged him. "Thanks."

"No problem, Cam." He smiles at me. I sat down and watched as the movie played. Sometime during the movie Zach took out a box. He opened it and when I looked at it he smiled lightly and nervously. "I love you, Gallagher Girl. I've known you for the past 3 years. And I want to make you mine. So will you do me the honor of making me the happiest man alive and marry me?" I sat there in shock. "Blackthorne Boy..." He looked at me with hope, Love, fear, and happiness. I smiled. "Of course!" He smiles and put the ring on my finger. He then grabbed me and we made out on the chair. When we broke for air he rested his head on mine. "I love you, Gallagher Girl." I smiled. "I love you too, Blackthorne Boy."

*End Of Flashback*

And I remember that fight, 2:30 a.m.

As everything was slipping out of our hands.

I ran out, crying, and you followed me out into the street.

Braced myself for the goodbye.

'Cause that's all I've ever known.

Then, you took me by surprise.

You said "I'll never leave you alone"

You said, "I remember how we felt sitting by the water.

And every time I look at you, it's like the first time.

I fell in love with a careless mans careful daughter. She is the best thing that's ever been mine."

Flashback

It was 1:30 a.m. and Zach still wasn't home. He said he'd be back by 10 p.m. to tell me his big news. Suddenly the door opened. Zach came in. "Where have you been?! You said you'd be back by 10! Look at the time! You're hours late!" I exclaimed. "Yeah so!" Zach yelled at me. That got me mad. "You promised Zach! You said you had something important to tell me! What were you doing? And what do you need to tell me!" He looked at me enraged. "I don't have to tell you everything I do!" "Zach you should have been hours ago! What's wrong with you!" He glared at me. "Nothings wrong with me! Thank God I'm leaving tomorrow!" I looked at him shocked. "Your...leaving? To do what?" "None of your business!" He yelled. I screamed, "You said you would be with me through everything and right now it sure doesn't feel like you're gonna do that! This is why I didn't believe in Love! Because relationships end! Love is fake! It never lasts! I should have known! This is why I don't believe in love!" I ran out crying. I ran into the street. I looked back to make sure Zach wasn't following me. But he was. He was on my heels. I ran faster but Zach managed to catch up to me. He grabbed me. "Gallagher Girl..." I pulled away. "Leave me alone, Zach." He shook his head. "No. I'll never leave you alone." I just crossed my arms across my chest and sobbed with my hair covering my features. He took my face into his hands. He made me look at him. I had tears in my eyes. "I fell in love with you since the elevator in D.C. Cam I'll always love you. I'm sorry. I fell in love with a loving mans careful daughter. Every time I look at you, I think back to when I first saw you. You're the best thing that's ever been mine." He kissed me. I pulled away. I hugged him tightly and sobbed. He carried me to the apartment. He laid me down on the bed. He laid down next to me. "I have a Blackout mission. Should I take it? That's what I was gonna tell you." I shook my head no. "No. I don't want you to leave." He nodded. "You believe in Love right?" I looked at him. "Yeah, I do. Thanks to you." He smiled. We laid on the bed snuggled against the other. After 20 minutes of silence Zach said, "You awake?" I nodded. "You're not going to leave me as soon as I fall asleep right?" He asked nervously. I instantly knew he spent the last 20 minutes blaming himself. "I would never leave you." I turned around to face him. I kissed him. "So we're cool?" He was still uncertain. "Of course we're cool. Why do you have to be an idiot sometimes?" He knew I was teasing. Which is why he decided to tickle me. After he finished his attack he smiled, "I'm glad." He kissed my forehead. We fell asleep snuggled against each other soon after.

*End Of Flashback*

Hold on, make it last.
Hold on, never turn back.

(Hold on)
You made a rebel of a careless man's careful daughter
(Hold on)
You are the best thing that's ever been mine.
(Hold on)
Do you believe it?
(Hold on)
We're gonna make it now.
(Hold on)
And I can see it,
(Yes, yes)
I can see it now (see it now, see it now)

After that fight, our relationship got stronger. A few months later, he proposed to me and I said yes of course. 5 months after being engaged we goy married in Rome (Joe insisted). A year later, I found out I was pregnant with our first child, Samantha Anne Goode. Zach was overjoyed but scared. He ran off after he hugged me in happiness. My mom knocked some sense into him and he came back and hugged me and said he would never leave again. I nodded. I knew he was going to leave. He was always going to leave. It was part of our job but I knew he meant he would never break my heart. Nine months later I gave birth to Sammy. She had Zach's features all over her except her eyes. Her eyes were a sapphire blue that Zach claimed I had. Fast foward a year later, I gave birth to another baby. We named him Matthew after my dad. When we first saw him we were confused as to who he would look like. The girls said me. The guys said Zach. The director said Zach but with my personality (I'm a friend of the directors which is an honor). Mom and Joe said Zach. Abby and Townsend said me. And now that Matt was 4 we saw that everyone was wrong. Matt was a combination of both of us. His hair was a mix of Zach's tussled brown hair and my wavy blonde hair. His eyes were a blue-green color that would change color along with his emotions. As for his personality he was stubborn like both of us, but kind. He didn't like attention except when he did. He also was a pavement artist. And our daughter...oh Samantha. That girl did take after Zach. She had his eyes and hair. She was also as cocky as her father. But she was a pavement artist. She was more me than Zach though.

I snapped out of my reverie as Zach and Sammy and Matt entered. When they saw me they yelled out, "Mommy!" I grinned. "Grandma Rachel and Joe came with us!" Sammy exclaimed. A second later, mom and Joe entered. Matt clung onto me as if for dear life. I raised an eyebrow at Zach. Samantha smirked. Oh I forgot to mention they both inherited that smirk. He scowled at Samantha. I frowned and hung my head. "What's she do now...?" Zach was scowling and said, "She scared poor Matt. Matt was screaming for at least 10 minutes while she laughed her ass off." Now it was my turn to scowl. "Zach!" He smiled apologetically. "Sorry." I turned to Sammy. She was smiling. My mom laughed as I glared at my daughter. "This is karma, Cam." I raised my eyebrow at her in question. "You and your dad would always prank me when i got home. This is just beautiful. Like mother like daughter." I smiled sheepishly. "Yeah...true...but this doesn't mean anything! Samantha," She flinched. She knew we only called her her full name if she was in trouble. "Say sorry to your brother and no P&E training for a week." She was about to protest until she saw my seriousness. "Ok, mommy." After I turned my attention to my son who was still scared. He was still 4 and his sister must have scared him badly because he would usually shake it off. He was a smart boy. He had already cracked his NASA code. And Sammy had cracked a NASA code a few months prior. I carried him and whispered to him, in a voice that Sammy wouldn't hear but loud enough for the adults and Matt to hear. "We'll get our revenge, ok?" Matt's eyes brightened. "This is why I love you, mommy." I laughed. "That's the only reason?" I asked him. He said, "I love you cause you're my mommy." I grinned. My mom scolded me. "Oh, you. Still the same. Just like when you were little." My mom was about to walk into the living room and that's when i cued Sammy to pull the rope. As my mom walked she got water dumped onto her. My kids started giggling and Zach smirked shaking his head at me. I was laughing so hard I had to lean against Zach for support. I buried my face into his chest. "I'm so screwed." I told him. He nodded chuckling. "Cameron!" My mom yelled. She turned to looked at me. She shot me a glare then spun around and walked away with all the dignity she had left. Joe came up to us. Sammy was in her fathers arms. "Whenever you need that recorded or an idea for a prank come talk to me." He winked at me. We all started chuckling. "Joe!" My mom said scowling. "Come fight me." Joe burst out laughing. "What?" My mom looked puzzled. After she realized what he was laughing about, she kicked him where the sun does not shine. He fell to the floor in pain. We all started laughing. Joe groaned. "Hmph." My mom said and left. Matt helped him up. Joe smiled at him. "Why do you have to be so cute!" Sammy frowned. "What about me. Im way cuter." I rolled my eyes as Zach smirked. "That's my girl." He muttered. I slapped his arm. Joe said, "I love you both equally and both of you are cute." When Sammy went with my mom, Joe whispered "you're my favorite. " to Matt. Matthew grinned. "Yay! Can I have ice cream?" Joe said yes while I protested otherwise. Matt got ice cream. "Joe..." I warned. "What? Thats my boy! I can spoil him. Samantha not so much considering she has Zachary's ego." Zach rolled his eyes. "I am handsome." I glared at both of them. "You two act like kids. And I already have two. I don't need more." Matt had gone to my mom, too. Zach came from behind. I looked at him. His eyes were shining. "We can always have more." He smirked. I flushed crimson. My friends yelled, "Get a room!" The guys just stood there smirking. "Guys!" I ran to them hugging all of my best friends. Then i hugged the guys. Then Abby and Townsend came in. I hugged them along with their 2 kids. This night couldn't be more perfect."
