Hey guys, it's been a while, like almost two years. A lot has happened and I feel like I owe all of you an apology. Reunited Through Trouble and Dwarves has finally been temporarily disabled, I have not abandoned it. I plan to rewrite it, to make it better and to make something that can have a beginning and an end.
As far as to why I have not updated, here's my explanation - writers block, I dug myself into a hole, and I've been working on my original novel. Not only that but in the past year, we have had three long-term medical emergencies, my job has been putting up fits and I've resigned, and there is also a divorce going on in my family. This has resulted in PTSD (not myself, but a very close family member), my household moving from three to seven, stress, and trying to save my social life.
Plus, I started high school. So, yeah... that speaks for itself.
So, I'm back. With a new fandom that I will pour my heart into. Voltron: Legendary Defender, it has been my most recent craze.
I hope you guys enjoy.

Season 1: episode 1

Summary: Hunk knows that Shiro has been through a lot, but what can he do? Well, if there's anything Hunk's dang good at, it's cooking.

Rating: K+, for a bit of violence. No language, no sexual references.

He could feel their eyes burning into him. Their gazes are curious, worried, confused, perhaps uncomfortable. But he didn't care, not for a moment.
It was food; he hadn't eaten in a while. Shiro could remember a life when he would sit down at his dining room table with some of his Mother's homemade dishes. How she would have cuffed him upside the head for his absurd table manners, but she was gone now, and he was hungry.

He continued to eat, not even tasting the food, but he could tell the texture was weird. He had always had a thing for textures, how things felt, how things brushed against his skin. He tried not to think about it.

Shiro knew one of them was bound to speak up. Eventually, he just hadn't expected it to be Hunk.
"Shiro, are you okay?" His voice held a cautious tremor, and Shiro looked up, they were all staring at him. Their faces contorted in a mix of horror and disgust. He hoped that disgust was not gear towards him.
He cleared his throat and straightened up. "Yes, sorry." And he went back to eating what was left in a much more civilized manner. Shiro looked at Keith out of the corner of his eye and saw the unhealthily tight grip on his spoon and clenched jaw. He had known Keith for a long time; since he had first became part of the Galaxy Garrison. He knew what was going on in his head, Keith wasn't mad at him, he was mad at the Galra. He looked around for a moment, and everyone was quick to duck their heads, finding their food goo incredibly interesting in an instant.

He could see Pidge's gears turning; he was a genius, he was thinking about what the Galra had done to him. He wondered what he was thinking; she seemed familiar, too familiar. He had a sneaking suspicion that he wasn't who he said he was.

Lance was different; like he was contemplating. A mix of pity and confusion. Like his mind hadn't wrapped around it entirely, or maybe he wasn't willing to accept it. What he had become. He tried to swallow that thought along with his food goo, to erase it. He was a human being; he was Takashi Shirogane. He was a pilot; he was an officer, and he was a murder. He shook his head and took another bite.

Allura and Coran were silent with a strange understanding and horror. Like they had a vague idea what people could become. They were an incredible race; they were well beyond advanced, and with the mind to create such amazing inventions, he was sure that they were figuring out what they had done to him for the past year.

Hunk, however, seemed like he was eager to do something. He was fidgeting in his seat, mind turning. Hunk was someone that Shiro liked, felt like he wasn't being judged as harshly. He had seen how Lance had stared at his robotic hand when he met him, Pidge was genius, but it seemed that he was better with tech than people. He could respect that, but when it came to some things, he felt like he instantly liked Hunk.

Shiro was startled out of his stupor when Hunk stood up and rushed out of the room. He quirked an eyebrow but didn't question.
After he finished, everyone else quiet, he stood up, took his bowl to put away. He headed to what he guessed was the space kitchen; he laughed a little inside.

After getting lost twice, Shiro finally found the kitchen and heard something he hadn't heard in a long time – off-key, soft singing behind the door. His lips upturned in the slightest of smiles, and he opened the door, it slid open to reveal Hunk taking a tray out of the oven that was covered in purple globs that looked something like…cookies?
"Hunk?" Shiro said, and Hunk looked up as Shiro sat his bowl on the counter.
"Oh, hey Shiro." He began to carefully take the cookies off the tray and onto a rack.
"What are you making?" Shiro asked, and Hunk's face lit up.
"I am finishing up some homemade chocolate chip cookies." They looked down at them, and Hunk continued, "Well, Alien edition." He held the tray up into Shiro's face, "Want one?" Hunk smiled that big goofy smile of his. Alarm bells that rang in the back of his head, having something so close to his face, but he grabbed one from the tray.

Shiro smiled, they smelled just like the ones his aunt made, his father's sister. He bit off a bite, and they melted in his mouth. The texture was spot on, and whatever he had used for chocolate was perfect. He let out a groan of pleasure and took another bite. Through his mouth of cookie, he said, "Hunk, these are amazing."
Hunk's smile stretched farther, "Thanks, I noticed how hungry you seemed back there, and I figured it'd been a while since you've had some decent food. And I know you had that one meal on Earth, but, come on, let's be honest. Keith cannot cook for his life; he needs to work on his seasonings. And if he had grilled the chicken instead of baking it to a crisp, get that nice color on it. Maybe a hint of lemon as well…" Hunk seemed to realize he was rambling and Shiro smiled again, finishing off his cookie.
"Thank you, Hunk. It's been way too long since I've had actual food."
Hunk lets a shy grin come on his face, and he offered, "Do you want another?" Shiro laughed and said,
"I would love one."
