Prologue
The snow raged around the golden Flareon. It confused her, the fact that she was cold. As a Flareon, she had an everlasting flame sack in her body that powered her Fire-type moves. But in the violent storm, along with the fact she was with an egg, that power was dwindling. She shivered.
Yet, she had to keep moving. She had to outrun them. The Pokémon trainers that always perused her, as an Eeveelution, and a Shiny.
She had to find a place for her unborn child to live. She was certain that the child would be like herself, a Shiny. She shuddered at the thought. Stopping for a moment, she looked around, shaking from the cold. She had been traveling along the base of a mountain for about a day now, and was hoping to find a cave. She narrowed her eyes ageist the cold, straining her eyes to see something, anything. And she was rewarded with a small hole in the huge mountain's base, only a few feet in front of her nose.
"S-s-secr-r-et P-power-r-r…" she gasped, her teeth chattering. The hole enlarged, just enough for her to squeeze through. The Flareon sighted with relief. Her baby would be safe. She started toward the hole.
"Who's there?!" boomed a voice from the shadows. The Flareon gasped and backed away from the hole. Three glowing yellow rings and a pair of red eyes loomed out of the dark interior of the hole.
"You heard me you little piece of scum! Answer me!" yelled the Umbreon.
"I-I'm s-sorr-ry." Stammered the Flareon. "I.." she was cut off by another voice.
"Bade! Are you scaring off visitors again?" an Espeon appeared from the inside of the hole.
"But Cira!" Bade protested. "But nothing!" Cira retorted. She then looked at the Flareon before her, shivering. "She's almost Frozen!" exclaimed Cira. "Come in dear, come in!" the Espeon stood aside to let the Flareon into the tunnel.
"What's your name dear?" Cira asked as they walked down the tunnel.
"Aine." The Flareon replied. She was beginning to regain some of her former warmth and felt much better in the few moments she had been in the tunnel. Except for the growing pain in her abdomen.
The tunnel widened into a spacious living/dining room area. Branching off of that where ten other tunnels, not counting the one they had just come through. Cira and Bade walked around Aine and Cira sat dawn delicately on a purple cushion that was laying on the floor of the main cavern. Bade sat down next to her, sitting on the ground.
"So what brings you out here Aine?" Cira asked, licking her paw.
"My egg."
"Egg?!" Cira exclaimed. "Bade! She's with egg and you try to scare her off?!"
"How was I supposed to know?! It's like some girl secret or something!" he protested.
"But…" Cira was cut off by a bloodcurdling shriek from Aine.
"It's… COMING!" she gasped, then screamed again.
A few hours later…
Aine sat in the warm room, curled around the Egg. She was in another cave, one of the tunnels off of the living room. A hot spring a few yards away provided a cozy warm aura, making Aine sleepy. A different clutch of three eggs, Cira's, was on the other side of the spring. Aine yawned and cuddled closer to her egg.
I'll always be here' she thought sleepily, fighting the tiredness that was slowly overpowering her. I'll never leave, my love. Aine yawned again. She began to slip in to the dark, quietness of dream-sleep. She sent out one silent thought to her egg. Or perhaps she spoke it. She was too tired to care.
"My little Star."
