(Author Note: Hey readers! I have been working on this story for a while. Let me know what you think. Thanks! ~Potter-Weasley-Granger1)

"Come on Katniss, lighten up," begs Johanna my best friend, "This is a party. The least you could do is act like you are having a good time and hold a drink in your hand." She then hands me a red plastic cup. I take the cup, but I don't plan to drink whatever she has given me. She then pulls me through the party searching for her boyfriend Gale. We finally get to him and he looks like he has had at least five red cups. Then Johanna whispers in my ear, "Kat, don't you think Peeta is attractive?" I roll my eyes as she goes over to the drunk Gale. It's not that I don't find Peeta attractive. He is very attractive, physically. I don't like that he drinks so much.

Gale and Johanna go join a beer pong game, so I go to make my escape. I set the, still full, cup on a random table and head to the door. I am halfway to the door when my arm is yanked backwards. I turn to see who in the world just yanked my arm and turn to find Finnick, a friend of both Gale and Peeta. "Hey it's Katniss right," he slurs. "Yea, what do you want," I ask. "So, Peeta has an important thing tomorrow and really needs to get home, could you drive him home," begs Finnick. I nod and help Finnick get Peeta to my car.

I get into the driver's seat of my car and I say, I swear Peeta if you throw up in my car." The only reason I agreed to drive Peeta home is because our families have been friends for years. I've known Peeta since forever. We grew up living across the street from each other and actually used to be friends until middle school. I'm pretty sure that the important thing that Gale was talking about was a college interview. I know that if it is Peeta's mom will be super mad if he blows it.

I get to his house and help him up the stairs to his room. A room that I grew up playing Legos in and hide in seek. I get him to the bed and start to leave and only stop because I hear my old best friend asking me to stay. "Please Kat, don't leave," pleads Peeta. "I'm not going anywhere," I say then I walk back to the bed. Then Peeta pats the bed next to him, "Join me like old times." When we were little kids we used to nap together either at his house or at mine depending on who was watching us. I nodded and agreed even though I was planning to leave as soon as he fell asleep.

I kick off my shoes and climb into his bed fully clothed. Before I even was fully laying down I could hear Peeta's light snoring, but when I attempt to get out of the bed he wraps his arm around me. I guess this isn't going to be as easy as I thought. Though I was exhausted, I never did fall asleep until I could escape Peeta's grasp. I retrieve two aspirin and a glass of water and I fall asleep in a chair. I wake as Peeta starts to roll around and wake up. "You actually stayed," says Peeta. "Yea, I told you I would," I reply, "Here take this." I say handing him the medicine.

He takes the medicine from me and thanks me. "What do you have today that is so important," I ask. "College interview," answers Peeta, everyone wants me to figure out right now where I want to go. My coach wants me to go somewhere to play soccer, which is fine with me. My interview is in an hour." As Peeta gets up and heads to his closet his mom walks in. "Oh, Katniss what are you doing here," asks his mom. I look at Peeta and he says, "Katniss is helping me find something to wear for the interview." "Oh, ok thank you Katniss," smiles Peeta's mom, "I just came to wake Peeta, there is food in the kitchen if y'all are hungry." "Thanks mom," says Peeta. She leaves the room and Peeta takes off his shirt and as I attempt to not stare at his toned chest he buttons up a baby blue long sleeve button up. "What do you think," he questions. "I like the shirt, but you might want to comb your hair and change out of the jeans," I reply. "Right," Peeta nods. He grabs a pair of khakis and goes into the bathroom. Peeta finishes getting dressed and we go down to the kitchen.

"Would you like some breakfast Katniss," asks Mrs. Mellark. "I'm ok, thank you. I have some plans with some friends," I reply. "Alright," replies Mrs. Mellark, "Thank you for helping Peeta." I smile and Peeta thanks me then walks me to the door like he was taught as a kid then he says, "Seriously, thank you for everything. Today wouldn't be happening without your help. I owe you Kat." "Yea, you do," I laugh, "Don't worry I won't let you forget." Then as if we had stayed friends he leans in and hugs me. As kids before one of us left we would hug and promise to see the other person soon. "I'll let you know about the interview," he says. I nod then head to my car and drive across the street to my house.

I walk in the front door and my mom is in the kitchen. "Katniss, where were you," she questions. "I was helping Peeta out. He had a little too much to drink last night, and he has a college interview today. I stayed to help him get sober before his interview. My mom looks at me with those eyes, she hates when I go to parties that have alcohol involved. "Well that was nice of you, would you like some food," asks my mom. "Nah, I'm good. I am going out with Johanna and Annie for brunch," I reply. My mom nods then I go upstairs to change.

I get to the sunshine diner and Annie and Johanna are already sitting at our regular booth. As I sit Annie says, "I ordered you a coffee." I thank her then Johanna starts to ask about me driving Peeta home the night before. "It wasn't a big deal Johanna," I explain, "I literally just drove him home then sat in a chair until morning, so I could make sure that he would be sober for his college interview." "You stayed all night," questioned Annie. "Yes, I did. Y'all know that me and Peeta used to be good friends growing up," I reply. "Yea, we knew that, but we didn't know that you and Peeta were still friends," replies Johanna. "We aren't, I was just helping an old friend out," I reply. Johanna just makes a face and nods. After three cups of coffee, some hash browns and a lot of talking we part ways and I head back home.

As I sit in my room reading my favorite book 'Pride and Prejudice' I see Peeta waving from his window across the street. I put down my book and go down stairs and across the street. Peeta meets me at the door and opens it before I can even knock. "Hey," he starts. "How'd it go," I ask. "Pretty good I think. I was nervous, but I believe that I did really well," he says. "That's really good. You know you could have just texted me, right," I smile. "Yea I could have, but then I couldn't ask if you wanted to hang out tonight," he says. "I guess we could do that," I reply with a smile.
