"I'm not jealous!"

Amethyst crossed her arms and turned away. Pearl did the same, and Steven looked on worriedly. "Guys," he started, "Let's not fight, okay? It's okay to be a little jealous of each other."

"I am not!" shouted both in unison. Amethyst growled and stormed off to her room, and Pearl sighed. "She'll cool off eventually, and when she does, she'll realize how ridiculous she was acting," she said, and turned to walk to her room.

"Pearl, wait," Steven called after her. She stopped and turned around, an inquisitive look on her face. "Maybe you should talk to her," he suggested.

"Why should I? She's the one who's been acting up ever since I've started talking to Sheena," replied Pearl with a frown. "If anything, she should be apologizing to me."

Steven sighed. If he couldn't get them to talk, he would have to live with their constant bickering. He had to come up with a plan…

"Alright you guys, you can open your eyes now," Steven said, letting go of both of their hands.

"Steven, why are we at Greg's storage unit?" asked Pearl, perplexed.

"I wanted some help finding an old picture of Dad," he replied, "He said it might be in here, but I can't do it alone."

"I suppose we can help…" said Pearl, peering into the messy unit. Not too long ago they had organized it, but since then it had accumulated more and more clutter.

"Great! You two get started, while I go talk to my Dad about helping us too!"

"Steven, is this just a plan to get us to talk to each other?" asked Amethyst, crossing her arms.

"Of course not! Now come on!" He practically shoved them into the storage unit, then running off to find his dad.

The two worked in silence for a good while, only interacting when they thought they found the photo. A solid hour had passed until Amethyst finally groaned and shouted, "I can't take it anymore!"

"What's the matter, Amethyst?" asked Pearl, a worried expression on her face.

"Pearl, I am jealous of you! Of Sheena!" she sighed and looked down at her feet. "You guys are always so happy together, I just wish that I could have that…"

"Amethyst…" Pearl didn't know what to say, so she put a comforting hand on the other gem's shoulder. "What makes you think you can't have what Sheena and I have?"

She sighed and looked away. "You don't get it, Pearl…"

"Amethyst, you don't mean…"

"I like you, Pearl!" she shouted, tears forming in her eyes. "I'm jealous of Sheena because you like her too!"

Pearl was shocked, and therefore speechless. But sometimes, actions speak louder than words. She crouched down, cupping Amethyst's face in her slender hands. The purple gem locked eyes with her. "Pearl, what are you-" She was cut off by a kiss on the lips from the other gem. Pearl pulled away and smiled. "I've always liked you, Amethyst. Sometimes it's hard to see, but…" she trailed off, gazing at the floor. "But I want you to know, that nothing Sheena and I have could outdo the feelings I have for you."

Amethyst said nothing, pulling Pearl towards her for another kiss. She was interrupted by a shocked gasp from Steven and Greg. Garnet was there too, with a knowing smile on her face. Pearl and Amethyst shared an embarrassed look, not noticing that their hands were locked together in a silent agreement to never hide their feelings again.
