"Come on. I know you can do it. Just walk up to the house and get it over with."
"I don't think I can. I can hear the heartbeat."
"God, stop being such a wimp. Can't you hear how fast it is? Whoever's heartbeat that is obviously isn't human."
"But still, what about the other one?"
"Take a whiff. That one isn't really human either." I inhaled, and wrinkled my nose in disgust at the smell.
"Ew, you're right."
"Yeah, Werewolf. Now, stop stalling and go to the house."
"Fine." I grumbled. It was probably really stupid to be arguing with a voice in my head, but I had grown so accustomed to it. The voice had been there ever since I had woken up in the meadow as a newborn. At first, I tried to reject it, but I just got tired of trying and decided to accept that I was a crazy freak who heard voices in her head. As if being a vampire wasn't strange enough, I just HAD to be the only one of her kind who heard voices. (Well, probably the only one.) And to top that off, I was also talented. Talented vampires are vampires who have special abilities. My special ability is that if I have had physical contact with any person, mortal or immortal, I can see where they are at any given time. Sure, it may not be something like mind reading or flying, but it's something.
"Which way?"
"Right in front of you, stupid."
"Oh, yeah." I said sheepishly. If I was human, I would have been blushing. I looked at the elegant house in front of me, and concentrated on identifying the people inside. I could hear nine of them, including the werewolf and the one with the strange heartbeat. Cautiously, I made my way over to the door and knocked. I could hear some light footsteps making their way to the door. Suddenly, a girl opened the door. She had short, spiky black hair, and honey gold eyes (Quite prettier that my dull red ones). She was wearing a black and blue cocktail dress that would typically be worn to a fancy occasion. Her skin was really pale, and almost the exact same shade as mine. She smiled at me.
"Hello! I'm Alice. I've been expecting you!"
