Note from author This really isn't an excerpt from Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. But i would appreciate it if you would pretend it was.
The Carolion
Carolions live in various habitats, but surprisingly, not many people have seen one. They resemble lions, but Carolions come in extremely bright colors, such as neon green with yellow spots, or hot pink with electric blue spots. They are found in the grassy plains of Africa, dark thick jungles, the Alps Mountains in Switzerland, in a few places in France, and in Antarctica. Their widely-spread habitats are unexplainable, but perhaps the biggest mystery of these fascinating animals is their behavior. Carolions are generally very docile and friendly creatures and can be quite shy at times (which is the reason why they are so hard to find), but at times, for absolutely no reason at all, they are known to rampage without warning and run full speed. They are known to charge other animals simply for the pleasure of chasing them away. Then—once again, for no reason at all—they will stop running and return to whatever it was they were doing, as though the rampage had not happened at all. Further research has revealed that Carolions sometimes run to burn off excess energy, but no one knows what makes Carolions so energetic in the first place. Their favorite foods are marshmallows, which makes up around 75 of their diet. How Carolions in Antarctica manage to find those marshmallows, no one knows.
The Lizzer
Lizzers resemble leopards, except for the fact that they are jet-black with bright rainbow markings. They are found in the thickest, darkest jungles. They are often seen in company of the Carolion and the Bettster. Lizzers are very social animals who seem to enjoy rolling on the ground for no reason. Their random behavior and quick mood changes, as well as their amazingly fast reflexes can be viewed as dangerous—but they rarely come out to see people, so there is no chance of the harming people. Lizzers are extremely hard to find, due to the fact that their random behavior is so random, they will stop in the middle of hunting simply to roll on the ground.
The Bettster
Bettsters are very social animals that resemble large, brightly colored cows. They enjoy standing in the middle of a plain to simply stare out into space. A Bettster enjoys eating oranges, clementines, and other citrus fruits, which makes up 95 of their diet. They are found wherever Carolions and Lizzers are found. Their extraordinarily random behavior is rather amusing to watch, but humans should never get too close to a Bettster. Although Bettsters do not have any intentions of harming anyone, their random behavior can harm people without them meaning to.
The CattyCat
CattyCats are very active creatures who enjoy spending time by chasing their tails. They have very mixed personalities. One minute you will see them grooming, and the next minute they might be rolling in the mud. CattyCats are very independent animals who normally do not associate themselves with other animals. CattyCats, when hungry, will eat literally everything in sight. They are very playful and intelligent creatures, and if you're lucky enough to meet one, the encounter will definitely be worthwhile.
