His smile.

That debonair lift of his lips. That's what captured her attention the first time they met. Then it was his voice, that soft almost velvety murmur that causes her knees to go weak. She dreams every night of those lips, that that voice will come to her and tempt her away. Its a fantasy, it could never happen and part of her wishes she would just give up.

But she can't, and its quickly becoming an unquenchable urge just to stay away. She can't let on that she's obsessed.

Fingers curl in a loose fist, clenching the fabric of her shirt tightly. He's there, just ahead of her, his body shaking slightly with repressed laughter at the antics of their friends. She just watches, always a part of their group but not. She's different, too different maybe, and perhaps that's why he seems to overlook her longing stares. Or maybe he knows but simply thinks of her as a silly little girl. He's not too much older than her physically, but mentally…

She freezes, her eyes locking on to his. His gaze frowning, questioning her, asking her if she's feeling well.

Closing her eyes, she smiles. He won't be able to tell if she's lying this way, he won't be able to read the painfully present heartache hidden within her eyes. And when she opens them he's already turned away.

With a sigh she moves her gaze away from his image. So strong, so giving, so ...reserved.

A/N: Its been a long dry period for me, hopefully the dry spell has ended.
