Why couldn't he say it? Why couldn't he admit to how he felt about her? The simple words that could be said to make her stay, words that had been said before but couldn't be repeated now.

Looking into her eyes she wanted him to say it, to spill his feelings and for once let everything be out in the open, she had already confessed why couldn't he?

The same look she had given him opposite the goa'uld shield when he refused to leave her, as a lone tear escaped and fell to the floor, and yet not enough to make him, move, as she turned to walk out the door, once and for all, never to return to his arms where she belonged.

Watching her as she left he did nothing to stop her except watch her leave.

But was it this easy to let her go? It wasn't easy for Sam as she stopped midway from her car to his house, turning back she looked at the house that held many memories, it wasn't easy to leave it all behind and move on, could she do it, and would he stop her.

"I care about her, a lot more than I'm supposed to" thought Jack as his mind went back to the day they finally admitted their feelings. Why did they have to leave it in the room?

Turning her back to his house, to his heart Sam continued her way to the car as she heard Jack's house door open, turning around Sam looked back to see Jack running for her, not wasting another moment, he pulled her into his strong embrace and pressed his lips to hers. Moments went by that would last an eternity, as Jack pulled away and pressed his head to hers.

"I think I made my decision clear huh?" said Jack as he held Sam tighter than he had before.

"Yeah, you did and I'm glad you chose the right one" replied Sam as Jack cradled her to his body and carried her back inside and out of the cold that had set in, coming to rest in front of the fire that still burned strong.

They sat and cradled each other for some time, never letting each other go, listening to his steady and strong heartbeat Sam fell asleep in his arms and soon Jack followed stroking her hair and running his fingers through her long blonde curls that were intoxicating to his senses.

They had each other now.

They weren't alone.

Together forever.

Never to be separated again.

I love you with all my might.

And just hold me through the night.
