A/N: If you haven't watched the season finale, turn away now. It'll kill ya to read this if you haven't watched it. This is how I think that scene should've gone. Please review :) Sorry ahead of time for any mistakes!
Summary: You know that moment when you are meeting; well this moment was when you're saying goodbye. Goodbye to the only one you love for a year and you cannot do anything, but hold their hand and say you will see them in a year.
Disclaimer: I don't own anything!
It was a bittersweet goodbye, they weren't much for a words, but looks. Their looks. It was their own language; none of their friends could understand it. How someone can so much by looking into his or her eyes is amazing. She turned away; tears in her eyes, walking back to get on her plane. He looked good in his uniform, but it wasn't enough to fill the void.
A void that would never go away, she wanted, no she needed him. He was her all, but she would not admit such an irrational thing. However, it was there, the void, the want, the need. They were not going to have any contact for a year. No blue or brown eyes to search when it gets tough; no one to whisper it'll be okay when you admit you've been having nightmares. They were partners, best friends even, and they were letting each other go; slowly.
More then anything she wanted to be his all, but with this new chapter, it would be too difficult. A song she heard a friend of hers' play, stuck in her head. The song never made much sense until now, Men and Mascara. They didn't do anything, but the Men and Mascara chorus explained it.
Men and Mascara are always wrong. He was leaving, she was heart broken, and she finally knew what that meant. Meant to be heart broken.
She looked over at Daisy; Daisy was anxiously awaiting her return so they could leave. Turning her head away before she let a tear slip, something hit her. A realization that only romance movies would conduct. It was a scene like in a cheesy romantic film, when they run to meet each other in a crowded room. That was scene she wanted to remember for the next year.
Her head turned to meet his crushed look; her bag fell to the ground and he noticed her running quickly towards him. He braced himself to be attacked by her flying mass, but he wasn't ready for the other part. Tears fell down her face and mascara ran down her porcelain cheeks. Just like the movies. She thought.
When her body collided with his, he stumbled backward. Her lips crushed into his and he was shocked at first, but then quickly reacted. Her arms were around his neck, and legs wrapped securely wrapped around his waist. He was her solider. Not anyone else's. She would not allow it.
They stood in the terminal for a while; kissing each other like, they would never see each other again, but they would. In a year to the day. They broke for air, and wolf whistles could be heard from their colleagues.
"Promise me something Booth, that when we get back, we'll pick off where we left off." Brennan whispered, not wanting to let go of him.
"I promise, Bones. Now, go get on your plane, and be the best damn Forensic Anthropologist you can be." Booth smiled at her. She gave him one final kiss before being let down on the ground. He smiled at her again, and she smiled back. Her mascara smeared, and her lips swollen. However, she wouldn't change it for the world.
Brennan walked away, thinking about what had just occurred, and it made something to come home to. Him. No one else. Yes, there was Cam, Hodgins, Angela, and Parker, but it was him she would think about when she lay her head in Indonesia every night. And that made it a little easier to go help out, then be home in 365 days…
A/N: So what do you think? How is for being typed up in 45 minutes? Enjoy and please review :)
