Hi! I've learned somewhere that writing something new can help with writers block, so here I am! I just thought of this story while daydreaming.

Disclaimer: I do not own Pokémon, nor do I claim to. I only own my story and OCs

Chapter 1: Takeoff

I had lived in Alola all my life. I never met my father and my mother died not too long ago. But I have learned to move on. If I let it overtake me I will always be in despair, unaware of the good things, never truly being happy. So I move on, never looking back. I will start my journey so that I can better protect myself, learn lessons, have fun, and let the past be the past.

I am packing my belongings, preparing to set out on my journey. I want to be free, not stuck in some orphanage. I hated being constrained, as I tended to be very energetic and end up running all over everything, and generally being very "impolite". I stuck the last thing in my satchel and was on my way. I don't think that I will ever be returning to this house, I have nothing to come back for.

I'm walking down the trail that leads to Professor Kukuis lab to get a starter pokémon, carefully avoiding the tall grass. I hopped off a small ledge on the beach and I was there. I went and knocked on the door.

"Who's there?" Kukui called from inside the house.

"Xana, I'm here for my starter." I replied.

"Oh, Xana! Come on in, it's not locked"

I opened the door and walked in.

"I'm downstairs" Kukui called

I walked to the stairs, fighting the urge to go swimming with the luvdisc or parkour up to the loft. I walked downstairs and Kukui greeted me.

"Hey dude, you here for your starter, eh?" Kukui asked.

"No, I'm selling Lass Scout desserts. Could I interest you in some Bonsweet Bon Bons?" I said sarcastically.

"Heh, you have some humor, I'm surprised, after what happened."

"Please don't bring back mom, it will just make me live in the past."

"Okay, as you wish! No bringing back up of the mother!"

"Thank you, now may I see the starters?"

"You sure can! Here they are!" Kukui pulled out three pokeballs, one with a fire sticker, one with a water sticker, one with a leaf sticker. He released the pokémon in the fire ball. The litten looked like it could be strong, but it was also so serious and regal looking. Kukui released popplio. She looked pretty energetic, but also fragile. Then Kukui released rowlet. Rowlet looked tense, like it was holding in the urge to burst up and fly around. She also had a fiery determination in her eyes, and I sympathized with her not being able to just let go and play.

"I'll take rowlet." I said, and at hearing my words, rowlet flew up and did circles around me, before finally settling in my lap. "And, of course, I'm not going to call her that, just calling her rowlet would be so bland and unoriginal. I think I'm going to call her... Evergreen. Wild and sturdy, able to stand her ground. What do you think?" The newly named Evergreen cooed in agreement, nipping at my ears.

Evergreen suddenly launched off my shoulder, and glided up the stairs.

"Wait up!" I called as I raced up the stairs.

"Have fun on your journey, Xana!" Kukui called, as he tossed me Evergreens pokeball.

"I will!" I called back as I raced after Evergreen. I was finally setting off on my journey, free of restraints and rules, free to race around and on the trees, be wild and free, with Evergreen by my side.

So that's the first chapter! It will be awhile before Dimension Jumper is updated, as I am trying to find inspiration to continue it. Also, the pokémon part of dimension jumper comes after like the first five chapters, and you can get a hint on how from the title :) Anyway, I am excited to start this story, and stick around to see where it goes! Till next time!
