Bath time- Ash and Mary-Lynette
(These characters belong to the author )
"But mom! I don't want to!" eight year old Jesse complained. Mary-Lynette shook her head smiling. It was almost the same routine every night. Sometimes Jesse was more willing to get into the bath but tonight was one of those difficult nights. Jesse was really unwilling and he did not want to have a bath. He was sitting in the corner of the sitting room, refusing to move. Two year old Sarah had already been bathed and was now asleep in her bed upstairs.
"Please mom, do I have to?" Jesse complained. Mary-Lynette looked at him. It was hard for her to disagree with her children and say no to them because of the type of person she was. She was the parent who almost always gave into her kids. Ash was the stronger one of the two. "Yes you have to," a voice called from the doorway. Both Jesse and Mary-Lynette looked over to the doorway. Mary-Lynette smiled. Ash stood there, ready to fight with his son if he had to. He didn't like his kids not doing as the mom told them to. He knew Jesse wouldn't dare argue with his father.
Jesse gulped loudly and stood up. Not wanting to try and win an unbeatable argument against his father. "I'm going now," he told his parents before heading up the stairs towards the bathroom. Ash turned towards his wife and smiled. Bath time was a difficult time but it was just another day in the Redfern household.
