"Hideki!" Chii called out. She was dressed in her gym outfit she received as a gift from Ms. Hibiya had given her as a hand-me-down. "Chii made breakfast!" She smiled as she handed him a plate of burnt bacon and undercooked eggs. Hideki looked at the mess and looked to Chii, patting her head. "Eh, thanks Chii." He said as he managed to smile. He walked out of the kitchen and into the small living room. He nervously checked his watch and flipped through a big yellow phone book. Suddenly, Chii popped out of nowhere. She was hanging upside down and gazing at Hideki, and then to the mysterious book. Her eyes riveted to an add with a cook on it. "Is that picture book, Hideki?" Hideki looked up. "No.I'm looking for somewhere to eat." Chii looked around the desk, spotting his breakfast. Hideki's eyes were now facing the thick book once again. She fell to the ground, hardly making any noise, and crawled over to the breakfast she had prepared. She stuck the fork into an egg; it's contents dripping all over the table. She watched the yellow and white river flow along the table until it began to drip off. She knew getting things on the carpet was a bad thing, so she scooted back over to Hideki, watching him for a minute. He looked up at her with a tired face, his head in his hands. Chii smiled and popped the nearly raw egg into his mouth. Hideki's eyes widened and he ran into the bathroom, his face bright green. Chii stared at the bathroom door and the odd hacking and splattering noises coming from it. She soon lost interest, and noticed a round, flat, shiny object coming out of the DVD player. She pulled it out and watched the different colors swirl around and around the disc. She felt it and examined it, and wondered what it was, since Hideki had never taught her about these strange objects. Deciding it would be a fun experience to scoop up some of the egg and put it on top of this colorful disc, she brought her find over to the table. As Hideki walked in, both he and his stomach mumbling. He looked over to Chii, who was huddled around her experiment. "Time for a rest.I guess we'll have Chinese food again tonight." He reached with his foot for the DVD player, pressing ON with his toe. The screen was blank, and flashed "PLEASE INSERT DVD". Hideki sighed and got up, scratching his back through his white T-shirt. After looking around a while, he turned around and looked to Chii. "Chii, have you seen my-" Chii turned around, holding his DVD with a face made of egg-goo and pieces of bacon. She smiled and stood up. "Look what Chii found!" He snatched the DVD and fell backwards. "Damn, the manager loaned this to me.he's gonna kill me! Chii, what did you d-" He looked over and saw Chii clutching his leg and crying. He reached over and pet her head, sighing. "It's ok.we can get another one.I guess." He looked to his pocket and watched a moth fly out. Chii looked up and wiped her eyes. "Buy.more?" Hideki nodded, trying to smile, knowing he had to stop spending money if he ever wanted to get into college. He looked to his watch and gulped, mumbling "If I can get through work."
