From the song Arms by Christina Perry. Such a nice song, please listen :) And have a happy Thanksgiving to all! (Procrastinating on nanowrimo :P)

His eyes travelled around the room taking in the last bit of memory he would ever have from this house.

He was sorry he couldn't see her before he left, he was sorry couldn't put his arms around her one more time, to show that he will always protect her.

He hoped that she would see why he did this; he hoped that she would see through his walls and understand.

Please, Max. Please understand that I love you and only want to protect you.

She wouldn't understand, and he knows that.

Fang remembered the time when Max was crying on the beach because she thought Fang was going to die.

His heart constricted when he thought of Max crying. She needed to be strong, with or without Fang, she needed to be the leader still.

Ironically, that was the day when she first kissed him.

Fang gave a sad smile remembering those memories.

Remembering each time he held her in his arms. Remembering each time she smiled at him. Remembering each time they stayed awake together. Each memory meant so much to him.

Fang stepped onto the roof; this was it, he had to leave.

I'll catch you whenever you fall. You'll never get hurt, Max. I'll catch you in my arms.

He faced the sky before him watching the sun fade away.

He knew that this was what he had to do, he knew that Max had to let him go. It would be easier that way. It would make life easier if he was gone, it would make her life easier if he was gone.

He spread his dark wings out and took off to the sky without a backward glance of his home.

I'll never be home again without Max in my arms.
