Piano Keys
Blue eyes shining like shards of ice
Secrets torrent around like spinning dice
Regardless of others he'll carry on until the end
Or at the very least until his heart is on the mend
And even though he knew how to swing a sword
It always seemed in his heart to strike a chord
With his two brothers dead, he was the black sheep
Leaving his servant the only one to see him weep
And while he could never say he wasn't weak
In all honesty he was never the one to be meek
Being misunderstood was both a blessing and a curse
Although he didn't know that his life could be worse
A handsome pianist with a haunting nightmare
His life might be tragic, but he didn't care
His father's arrogant words hit him like a stone
Causing the poor boy to feel oh so alone
Even when his hope seemed to dim
He always went out on a limb
If not to help himself but his friends
The rules, he felt, just had to bend
Sure life was hard, but he always found a way
The path to tomorrow marked a better day
While all he ever wanted was someone to listen
Looking back now, it caused a single tear to glisten
Even his place in his household treads on a thin line
Yet no matter the struggle, he swore he'd be fine
But sometimes that strength was nothing more than a mask
Through the pained glory in which he would often bask
Yet he's finally beginning to see things with his own eyes
So when he promised to change things, they were no lies
That meant no matter the risk, no matter the rules
He'd prove he was his own person to those darn fools
Snapping open his eyes, he stared at the ceiling
His nightmarish dreams still leaving him reeling
A haunting lullaby runs and courses through his mind
If only those secrets to his harsh past could he find
Maybe then he'd find his standing in this sovereign place
But until that time came, he'd remain with a stone face
Tapping an idle note on ivory piano keys
'No one realizes I do nothing for me…'
A/N: Yikes, I'm scared of any flames I might get for this…And with that, okay, I'll admit, I've both read and watched PH, and I guess you could say this is me trying to figure out one of the characters…so please don't kill me. –Flinches- You may not agree with any parts of my poem, and hey, that's okay, I just don't want to see flames in my inbox. Flames make this author see red and then go crawl in a hole. So if you're going to review, be nice, or if you need to be mean, say; 'this sucks' and be on your merry way. That, I can handle. I also accept constructive criticism. :3
DON'T HURT ME. D:
And yes, the character I'm trying to wrap my head around is Elliot Nightray, if you couldn't tell.
He's a good character, and pisses me off sometimes, but I hate very few characters! XD
And now I shall await the flames~
