Author's note: Well I know I say in the bio that I will probably never write anything and post it.. but I changed my mind..
Here I wrote a short drabble that I just needed to post, I hope you enjoy it :)
For over 300 years the constant fire of revenge had raged inside of him, burning all other feelings in it, only leaving the charred remains of the man that once lived. The hope, the honour, the essence of Killian Jones was exchanged for a relentless obsession for vengeance that grew and grew until it had threatened to consume him, threatened to become him. The fire had burned all remnants of his former self, of the honourable man Killian Jones once was, leaving behind Captain Hook, a merciless beast in pursuit of a twisted variety of justice.
That was until she came.
Emma Swan.
If he was a fire, insistently burning, then she was the rain that extinguished him, washing away the layers of reprisal that encompassed him, clearing the smoke and allowing him to see clearly for the first time in almost 300 years.
He didn't know when the familiar flame licking tendrils of revenge started to dull, when the white hot rage and insistent need to avenge his love, his Milah, was replaced by the hope, the direction he felt when he saw her, a reminder that a good man once lived.
Like a firefly to a light, he felt drawn to her, recognizing the broken parts inside of her that so neatly paralleled to himself. Pain and loss were illuminated in her eyes, bringing back memories of the lost boys from Neverland - and himself. She had loved and had lost, so very often without goodbyes; she knew the aching of abandonment oh so well and how to stitch herself up and build up walls to protect the damaged soul inside.
Seeing all this Killian should had fled, a very real chance of unpleasant events repeating themselves. But he stayed. Because being with her was like a reminder of the halcyon days, before the Dark One and Pan had torn his family and loved ones apart, before his scoundrelous father had left him.
Her presence bought feelings, feelings he thought he'd never know again. He felt alive, impassioned, like a phoenix arising from the flames.
No he was here to stay, for better or for worse.
I hope you all enjoyed that, I would love it if anyone reviewed this, I don't care if it's negative, I need the help and criticism! Thank you :)
