Akatsuki No Yona: It's Only The Beginning
Chapter One – "I became your bodyguard for a different reason.."
"But Hak.." Yona started to protest, until Hak cut her off.
"No Princess, I cannot allow this. Remember when we visited the Blue Dragon's village and you were stuck in the cave in? I thought I had lost you forever, I prayed to Hiryuu to give you back to me and that I would never ask for anything ever again. Therefore, I am staying by your side until you go crazy and try to fire me, only for me to not accept that and still stay by your side." Hak finished his speech.
Yona just stood there, not knowing what to say. She did remember the cave in, and she remembered how scared Hak had looked when he held her in her arms. Now she knows why.
"I just don't want you to have to worry about me all the time Hak. When this is all over, I wish to set you free to a normal life. I know how much you hate being my bodyguard and that you only became one under my fathers orders." She told Hak, who stood there with a softened expression.
"Princess, I was ordered to become your bodyguard and to protect you as long as I lived, but that's not the only reason. I became your bodyguard because .. because.." Hak could not finish his sentence. Yona became irritated, she wanted to know the other reason.
"What other reason Hak?" She said in a stern voice. Hak looked up to face Yona, who was standing there with her arms crossed and an expression of a true Princess on her face. Stern, yet soft. He loved the way Yona looked, she was so beautiful..
He decided after an internal debate to tell her the real reason as to why he became her bodyguard.
"Yona, I became your bodyguard because .. because I love you! I've loved you ever since we were little. I didn't know what these feelings were as a child but as I grew older, I started to realise it was love. I have loved you longer than you loved Soo-won! So Princess, that's why I became your bodyguard, because I could not bear to live without you if you died." Hak explained.
He looked away from Yona's face, to ashamed to look at it. He had always told himself he would never tell her that. That he loved her with all his heart.
A few silent moments passed before he looked back up at her. Yona was stood there with an unreadable expression on her face.
"Please Princess, say something." He pleaded. "I'll get on my knees if I have to!"
Yona's face softened before she spoke.
"Hak, I have known that you have loved me ever since the Blue Dragon village cave in. The way you rushed to me and hugged me tight.. told me that you truly did love me. In that moment, I realised my feelings for you too.." She trailed off, a smile on her face as she looked at Hak.
In a swift moment, Hak had his lips on Yona's. 'Her lips are so soft..' He thought in his mind. Their lips moved in sinc, and after a while they both pulled away, trying to catch their breaths.
"That was.." Hak began.
"Amazing." Yona finished for him, smiling. "But what do we do now? I have a kingdom to win over." She queried.
"Don't worry Yona," Hak said, "This is only the beginning."
