Motonari sat at his usual spot, the balcony at the very top of his castle, on that fine summer day. He basked in the rays of the sun, accepting its radiant glory with pleasure. In front of him was the grand view of the mighty island of Chukoku and the endless sea that stretched to the horizon. He enjoyed this moment, relaxing and enjoying the warm summer heat.

'But it is not enough….' He thought to himself. His eyes trailed away slightly towards the East. He assumed one of the provinces out there was the province of Kai.

The Cub of Kai lived there, doesn't he? No wait. He's the current Tiger of Kai…

Motonari had never cared about the existence of others, regarding them as only sacrificial pawns. But after the war that lead to Hideyoshi's end, he couldn't help but give an ear whenever someone mentions about the land of Kai.

To be more specific, he listened to the tales of Yukimura Sanada, the Tiger of Kai.

It amused him that such a person existed. As a sacrificial pawn, the young brunette would have been worth killing thousands for and keeping until the Mouri Clan ended (which, he calculated, would be in more than 300 years from now). The amount of loyalties that he harboured in his heart for his master seemed endless and his naivety proved him to be a pawn that was easily manipulated. Perhaps, he was a knight instead. Still a sacrificial, but the strength and determination he had inside of him had demonstrated to the strategist of how powerful he was compared to mere pawns.

But there was also the heat that radiated from him. Motonari had accepted his defeat that day. It was easier to do so to be able to learn from mistakes and progress. If one were to stay in idle depression, one may simply regard oneself as useless. And Motonari didn't like knowing he was useless. But he couldn't accept the fact that Yukimura Sanada could create warmth far hotter than the sun had ever casted down on the strategist.

It must be for those reasons alone, that the strategist seemed to give the slightest interest towards this Yukimura Sanada. He doubted any other reasons. A feeling of attraction? Preposterous. Emotions had become useless in the battlefield. A longing towards him? Impossible. If he wanted something, he would already done the steps to take it (mostly by force).

The strategist of Aki shifted uncomfortably when he saw a large pitiful excuse of a boat, assuming it was one of the damned pirate's inventions, heading towards him. He must be bored again, thinking that it would be fun to waste the day on disturbing him. Motonari sighed, 'imbecile. Has he learnt not that I wish not to be disturbed in summer days like this?'

He stood, taking another glance to the far east. Then he shook his head. Some things were simply meant to be left unanswered. This interest towards the Tiger will soon fade, for his desire to conquer Chugoku would over shadow it in time. But for now, Motonari grabbed his blades and readied himself for battle.

Hellow~

Recently, I've been playing Sengoku Basara and well, I WILL FOREVER FUCKING LOVE MOTONARI AND HIS SELFISH GLORIOUSNESS HAHAHAHA (I like Kanbe too~ He's adorable). But putting that aside, I remembered in the anime, Motonari mentioned something about how Yukimura was hotter than the sun. It bothered me a bit that Motonari would simply cast that aside, especially when he mentioned about how exceptional Yukimura was as well. So I kind of threw this out of my mind.

It's short, yes, but I've never written a P.O.V of a person like Motonari. So this is like a practice?

Though, it kind of... opens up a whole new slash pairing? hahahahahaha *shot to death mercilessly*
